I have been keeping a journal consistently since 2002, and I always use Paperblanks. Gorgeous books that have the look of something ancient and valuable, without using leather. The paper holds up to light watercolor, acrylics, pen drawings, etc. I especially like the light weight of the lines, so you can draw over them if you want to. I love how they flipped the direction of the secret back pocket around - so the opening is near the spine. This is an upgrade from earlier Smythe Sewn Wraps. That way, when you open the magnetic flap, all your stuff doesn't fall out on the floor.

I chose the Mozart-themed version because I recently finished writing a play about the great composer. (Check it out at <a href ="http://letterstomozart.com">letterstomozart.com</a> if you want...) When I finished the year-long project I didn't want to let him go. Writing and drawing in this journal makes me feel like he's still lurking nearby, encouraging creativity.

If you want to keep a journal, this is the best brand.

I just recently purchased this book at a store near me. I love it because of the old look it has to it. Plus I love music so I thought it would be cool to have the music notes on the cover.

I first saw these books in Old Town, San Diego and they were exquisite. I bought one as a gift and then stumbled on to them on Amazon (much cheaper!) so I bought about six more, all different, for Christmas gifts. They are so beautiful I am going to hate to part with them.

I love paperblanks unique style,my dayplanner and journals are always a paperblanks product. The embellished manuscript is beautiful and makes a great gift to a Mozart fan.
