Richard Goode does not fail to suprise with his infinite technique and grace on the piano. The tempo for the wonderful third movement of Piano Concerto No. 9 is excellently chosen as well as the interpretation. His recordings are always of excellent quality. Anything of Richard Goode is a definite must-have.

It's a shame Mr. Goode didn't do a complete Mozart cycle. We'll have to live with those concerti that he did record. This disc is most excellent, with #9 being a special standout. The sonics are excellent and as to the recording, only the Uchida (of the recordings I have heard) can compare. Beautiful music!
There are a few other discs in this series and they're all very good. |
