Lily Kraus was an admirable and today almost forgotten pianist. She was gifted with admirable technique, sumptuous tune and kaleidoscopic temperament.
Clara Haskill was the supreme Goddess of Mozart piano music in the sublime female Army, but Mozart `s Pons possessed a special brightness and delicate expression. The other twelve ladies would be without special order: Teresa Carreno, Clara Haskil, Rosalyn Tureck, Myra Hess, Tatiana Nikolayeva, Rosita Renard, Guiomar Novaes, Jean Marie Darre, Edith Farnadi, Rena Kyriakou, Martha Argerich and Annie Fisher. |
