Makes an Excellent Beer,

I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys Pilsner. I will comment that it needs to ferment for about 3 weeks to prevent having an over carbonated beer. It should also be bottled for a minimum of a week to two weeks. It has been my experience that this holds true for all of the premium beers that are for the Mr. Beer kit.

This comes with 2 cans of wort instead of one can and one package of boost. It is clear amber, very refreshing, and goes down easily. Very nice and easy to make. I recommend that you ferment for 2 to 3 weeks and bottle for at least the same amount of time. It gets better with age.

This was the best beer I've made with the kit. It has a nice aroma and a good flavor. I let it ferment for 3 1/2 weeks and then bottled and let it carbonate for 2 weeks and then I let it condition in the fridge for 3 weeks. It was really nice. I highly recommend it.

This beer, being LME based, is a little dark for a pilsner, but the head retention is decent. The smell is slightly yeasty. This kit, like all Mr. Beer products is easy to make and, while it is an ale version of a lager, the flavor is where it should be for this style with a slight citrusy twist. I added 1 lb of pilsen DME to boost the ABV and body without adding additional hops so I'm sure this beer was designed to be a little more hop forward and lighter bodied than my version turned out. After 2 weeks in the fermenter, 2 weeks conditioning at room temperature and one week in the fridge, it is smooth and enjoyable. The taste is of pleasant light bitterness and subtle graininess with background notes of fruit. The Pilothouse Pilsner adds an American twist to a very old European style. I like it, I'm glad I tried it and think it's a nice change of pace but overall, I think I prefer Mr. Beer's Czech Pilsner.

This is an OK beer. The hops give it a piney flavour to it. Try the Canadian Lager.

I let this ferment at 76 degrees under the kitchen cabinet for about three weeks and left it in the bottles for two weeks. Wow, what a great taste! I want to try Stick Wicket but this one has been my favorite so far. Much better than store bought beer, that is for sure.
