Saw this at a neighbors house and had to have it. It is so cute, the kids love to watch santa climb up and down. Love the Christmas songs it plays (can be a little loud). Makes a nice accent to lean up against your Christmas tree or even put it along side a smaller (4ft) tree and he appears to climb to the top. It is very solid, detailed and looks worth more than the average $40 price tag. A must have Christmas decor item.

I have had one of these for well over a month, and have had no problems with it at all. It looks very good by the tree, or by anything you have decorated with the larger c7 bulbs in the house.

The music volume is adjustable so that you can have it very loud, or not hear it at all. That feature is a must in this house.

Santa's climbing is not as loud as I would have expected, but if you have a smaller house and sensitive ears, you might not want to leave it running over night. The mechanics of it aren't the only thing you'll hear...Santa himself is a little clunky as he moves up and down. But again, I stress that these sounds are not nearly as annoying as one might expect, and are very manageable throughout the course of the day. We have ours in the living room, and I can easily hear the tv at normal volume over Santa.

Over all, I would recommend this, especially at Amazon's price, to anyone really into indoor decorating.

I purchased this item after getting acquainted with all of the Mr. Christmas animated music novelties. This one has been a disappointment. I bought it last winter (Feb. 2010) to add to my growing collect of Mr. Christmas items so I didn't find out until almost a year later that it doesn't work well. Two or three of the bulbs burned out withing two days and Santa will climb up and down but not without being nudged every single time. Santa gets to the top and stalls, then when nudged he climbs back down and stalls. I got tired of having to nudge it over and over and finally packed it away. It's too late to return it or I would. I don't recommend this item. A great choice that I would recommend instead is the Mr. Christmas Sledding Tower. It kept both me and my grandson entertained for weeks.

This our second one. A power surge toasted the first one's electronics after we had enjoyed it over multiple Christmases.

Also, bought one for our son's Finance's parents after seeing them enjoy it at our home.

Seeing him climb the ladder is very relaxing and having the option of hearing the music or just having him step is a nice feature.

This new Stepping Santa worked well for the 2 weeks it was running, then we put it away for the season. However, I bought this one to replace another one that had stopped working that was purchased 2 years ago. Remember, this is a Christmas ornament and is not supposed to be dropped. The previous one fell over when Santa was at the top and Santa never worked again. FRAGILE!! The kids and the wife loved it so much, how could I not replace it? It is a nice piece.

i bought the stepping santa a few years ago i used him one year packed him away and got him out next year he would not work again no power to him ive bought new power cord but he still dosent work i set him out any way to look at maxine mcpeak osborne

A great gift for the hard to shop for and anyone with small kids. the smiles are worth it.

The ladder climbing Santa works real well and is VERY easy to assemble no matter your age 8 to 80. No kidding. It's a great conversation piece also at parties.

This is a great item to add to any household during Christmas. People of all ages love this product.

Only complaint there could be is that the transition from up to down can be rather noisy.
