More or less works, October 2, 2005
This review is from: Mr. Clean AutoDry Pro Series Kit (Automotive)
I'm pretty picky about how my car looks after a wash. So take this with a grain of that salt. Generally I hose the car off, go over it with a bucket of soapy water and a mitt, rinse, and then towel it off with two towels (keeping one as dry as I can to get the spots off.)
Yes, Mr. Clean AutoWash does more or less as what it says it does - you can skip the toweling dry. But there are a few spots here and there, and, unless you also wash the windows with windex, after a few days a white filmy scum develops on the windows (I presume it's on the car too but you don't notice it as much.)
In terms of what's involved in washing the car, you still have to go over it with the soapy mitt and scrub off any bugs and droppings and get at the wheel covers, and that's the hardest part anyway. So I didn't find it took me all that much less time to wash the car in the end. Stack that against the cost of refills for the special soap and the filter and the extra step of having to spray it down with filtered water, and I don't think it's really worth it.
That said, if you have fairly limited expectations for a car wash you do yourself (you aren't willing to settle for water spots, but you don't care if its absolutely perfect) then this might save you a little time.

Not perfect, but saves a little bit of time., June 10, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Clean AutoDry Pro Series Kit (Automotive)
I have washed a couple of cars with this kit. Here I will summarize the negatives and positives of this product.
POSITIVES:
1) It saves time in the sense that you have the water and soap right there at the end of the hose at the twist of a knob.
2) It really does leave the MAJORITY of the car spot free.
3) It also saves time you take to dry the car as it's magic de-ionized spray removes MOST of the water spots.
NEGATIVES:
1) You still have to wash the car manually by hand.
2) Even with the special spray, you will leave the car with a few spots, mostly on windows and mirrors (esp. side view mirrors).
3) You have to continually pay for the special soap and special filter.
OVERALL:
1) It's a nice compromise between completely washing your car by hand and getting it professionally washed.
2) Even with the soap and refill it's still a lot cheaper than bringing it in to a car wash.
3) And it does save you time with the soaping and the drying.
4) However, if you need your car completely perfect, then this isn't the kit for you.

Works great!!!, June 10, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Clean AutoDry Pro Series Kit (Automotive)
I purchased one of these when they first came out and I think I've been using my current version for over 2 years with very few problems. Works as advertised, soap, scrub, rinse and no messing with towel drying. I use this product on an auto, truck and 3 of my motorcycles without one bit of problem. There is only one minor gripe I can give the Mr. Clean AutoDry system, the rubber closure for the soap port is terrible, it never seals properly and if you store it upright, you may have soap running down the side. Not sure why they decided to put this soap port on the side like this. But other than that one gripe, this is an excellent product. If you want to cut some time out of your car cleaning, buy it.
