5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful--Be Careful, December 23, 2004
This review is from: Mr. Clean Cleaning Pads, Original, 4 pads (Health and Beauty)
This is great for walls, painted cabinets, floors, places you find kid-grime, EXCEPT varnished handrails and spindles on stairs! I had to re-varnish since I removed the shiny finish with this Eraser. The package DOES give this warning, but I started cleaning with it and it works so well and quick that I just went all over the house!

The magic eraser is very effective on crayon, grease, scuffs, and other trouble spots. Great on shower scum! You must be careful because it will strip finishes and paint. Very good even on textured surfaces. It does seem to wear down quickly for the price though (one shower cleaning and it's done). My neighborhood dollar store sells a knockoff for 2 for $1.00 and they work just as well. They breakdown quicker, but at 75% less, they're worth it! Bottom line... great for trouble spots, but don't waste them on everyday messes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, December 1, 2009

I was skeptical about the commercials. This product is better than I expected. I cleaned walls, stove tops and garbage pails with EASE. Great cleaner for someone with arthritis or low strength because you don't have to rub hard at all to get it to clean completely. I'll be buying many more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beware, January 25, 2012

Great product, use it all the time. But be careful when cleaning non-glossy or flat paint, you will go right down to the base coat if you are too aggressive.

5.0 out of 5 stars magic erasers, August 2, 2010

Although a wee bit pricey, these little white sponges are absolutely fantastic. I used to run around my house with touch up paint but now I moisten a magic eraser sponge and run around the house looking for scuff marks. Almost all your scuff marks, especially good on white walls, will magically disappear with a quick rub down from a magic eraser.

5.0 out of 5 stars These things are magic and they are *not* sponges, February 17, 2010
This review is from: Mr. Clean Cleaning Pads, Original, 4 pads (Health and Beauty)
I learned about these from the supervisor of a moving company when he stopped by to remove some scuff marks he crew left on my walls. The walls were newly painted and I thought he was going to have to repaint some of the because of the damage. Boy, was I wrong. He wipped out his Magic Eraser and in a few minutes the walls looked as good as new!

These things plus a little water can do wonders for removing scuff marks, pencil marks, and all manner of blemishes from walls and woodwork. However, you should consider them consumable, just as you would with soap or detergent when used to clean the same things. (However, soap and detergent will probably not be anywhere near as effective.)

So, if you plan on scrubbing pans or bathtubs then use a sponge. If you want to remove marks from places where detergents, soaps, and other chemicals are ineffective then this may be your answer.
