We had a similar Mr. Coffee programmable 12-cup coffee pot for at least 8 years till the carafe cracked. The new carafes were the wrong size so I was forced to buy a new model, but it is sadly missing features of the old one like the beeping when coffee is brewed, which we used as an alarm clock. Also, the separate doors for changing the grounds and pouring in water. Plus it steams up and makes a horrible gurgling racket when we try to clean it while still warm. Sure wish we had the old pot back.

Cheap, cheap, cheap. The first one I got made one cup of coffee, then developed an electrical short. Real fire hazard. Returned that one for a replacement. Made a few cups of coffee with it, and then coffee stared tasting strongly of hot plastic. Quite using it.

This coffeemaker is a piece of junk! The electronic stuff goes after about a month, making it impossible to brew even a single cup of coffee. This is the second one I've own having sent the first one back for the same problems. Do yourself a favor"don't buy this coffeemaker"!!! Mr Coffee use to be a good product but since the company followed the fray to China, all their products have gone downhill. Bring back american made products please!!!

My husband and I use this coffeemaker every day. We like to set the delay so it goes off before we get out of bed in the morning since it takes about 20 mins to brew a pot. That's 1 of the things I don't like about the pot is the brew time and also pouring. When I pour a cup of coffee or even try to fill the buffalo in the back..it always dumps and I end up wiping the counter. Other than that..it does the job!

I purchased this coffee maker in April 2011 to replace a 10+ year old Mr. Coffee Maker that the heating element had gone out on. After having the coffee maker for eight months, my current overall summary is that for twenty five dollars it is a decent coffee maker. I'll be honest tho, when I first purchased it, I didn't really care for it.

At first, many of the changes from the previous model's design irritated me. Instead of having separate openings for filling the reservoir and the coffee grounds, there is one GIANT flip top lid that you have to open to access both. If you keep the coffee maker towards the back on a counter with a low overhang, you have to pull it way out in order to be able to lift the lid all the way open. This is also a problem if you want to leave the lid open to air out the reservoir (I've gotten around this by rinsing the coffee filter basket and then re-inserting it askew so that the lid can't close all the way). Also, the buttons were placed in much different places than the previous model and they are all small silver buttons of the same size that someone with visions problems may have trouble reading. My husband sometimes hits the On button instead of the Delay button in the evening when prepping it for the following day. When pouring coffee out of a full carafe, if I don't slightly hold the top open a bit, the coffee drips all over the place. Again, this can be rectified by slightly holding the lid open and may not occur on all carafes since glass can have small inconsistencies.

One thing I do really like about the new pot and basket design is that I actually can pull out the coffee pot while it is still brewing to pour a quick cup which never worked with my old Mr. Coffee Maker. The new machine also seems to get the coffee hotter than our old machine did. With all said and done I've gotten used to the new coffee maker over the past months and hope that I get as many years out of this Mr. Coffee as I did the last one.

This old standby makes fine coffee. Amazon has it at a good price. A French coffee press may make better tasting coffee, but this is quick and easy.
