Super Coffee Maker!,
By Sharp Pencil "Sharp Pencil" (Monument, CO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel
I love this coffee pot! I bought it before reading the negative reviews of most Mr. Coffee makers and was a littler nervous when I read all the bad things. I have owned it for several months now.My coffee pot never leaks when I pour it. I can remove the pot while it is still brewing and pour myself a cup. The programable feature works great. The filter holder is removable, so it is easy to keep clean. Also, the top of the coffee pot itself snaps off so the whole thing fits in the dishwasher very nicely. I used the water filter for a while and then stopped because it was just one more thing to clean everyday, and we have pretty good water where I live. Also, I don't use the reusable filter because I don't like the sludgy taste it gives my coffee. I prefer disposable filters. Also, the cord can be tucked inside the back of the machine, so you don't have extra cord length lying all over your counter. I scoot my coffee maker right back to the plug so I only need a short length of cord...the rest is tucked nicely in the back of the unit. My favorite feature of this coffee pot is that when it is done brewing it gives two nice beeps. It wakes me up in the morning and motivates me to get up because I know my coffee is ready and waiting! I would recommend this coffee maker to anyone!

This coffee pot, no matter how fast or slow you pour it, it leaks....I would love to see the president of Mr Coffee trying to pour coffee out of this pot without it leaking. Then maybe then he might call his design staff in and fire them all. This is a common porblem for some of the Mr Coffee products but they don't seem to careEd Pinckney MI

It's not a coffee maker, it's a steam machine,
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel
This is the WORST COFFEE MAKER EVER DESIGNED. All it does is make steam and noise. When we put in 12 cups of water, it now only makes 6 cups of coffee. Regularly makes 4-6 cups of coffee less than the amount of water we put in. The rest of the water just comes out the top. I will never purchase a Mr. Coffee product ever again.

The Negatives are from user error! Great coffee maker!!,

I have had a different Mr C model (FTX23) for several years now, and with a home addition needed another coffee maker. I did not want to spend a fortune, but wanted some extra features, such as brewing strength selection -- so, I decided on the JWX31. The carafe has not leaked -- even when pouring all of the water into the machine. The pause and serve function has worked great so far. The fresh brew timer is nice so you can keep track of how long your coffee has been brewed and sitting on the burner. The design is very sleek and functional -- very easy to use. The negatives posted here are from user-error --- just read the instructions!! First, it tells you that it will brew about 1 cup less than the actual amount of water put into the machine --- just add an extra cup of water when brewing! Also, when cleaning, it tells you that it will brew about 1/2 of the mixture immediately and then it will pause for about 30 minutes or so and then it will brew the rest of the solution. The only things I do not like are the beeping it makes after brewing -- there should be an off button for this, and the burner temperature cannot be changed ---- the FTX23 model has both of these functions -- BTW, I read the reviews on here about the FTX23 model and I only had a small amount of water around the base of that maker and I had it for years with no other problems. I actually still don't know if it was from spilling when pouring water into the machine or from an actual leak -- it brewed the right amount of coffee each time. Overall, this maker -- the JWX31 -- is a great coffee maker at a great price --- I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond whose initial price was cheaper than Amazon and even better with their coupons.

Pouring coffee out of a carafe is not rocket science. If you open the lid while pouring it, it is going to spill. Therefore, don't open the lid while pouring. They put it there for a reason ya know! Also, every coffee maker uses more water than you put in, so just add a little extra. The Cuisinart that I just replaced used about an extra cup, this one does too, it doesn't take a genius to know that when water is hot it evaporates. This coffee maker works great, the only people who would give it one star are the ones that probably shouldn't be using a coffeemaker in the first place!

Defective cleaning cycle from the get-go,

This review is for the JWX31 model. I had the JWX27 model and ruined it by running an apple cider mix through it. Dumb me. Well the JWX27 was a great MR. Coffee pot so I was going to buy another one but couldn't find it so I purchased this JWX31 with the only difference being that it had more stainless steel in its design or so I thought. This model did not have the dual water windows in the tank as described. I've had instances where the pause when pouring a cup during brew didn't work and had coffee all over the plate. Now when it came time to clean the pot, which was a feature I loved from the old model, it would only brew one cup of vinegar and then stop. The second time came to clean it and the same thing happened. I ended up just doing it manually. I've only had the coffee pot for four months and is still under warranty but the service centers are hours away so I probably would have to mail it. Not so sure it's worth it. Mr. Coffee this pot stinks!

Worst design ever!,
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel
Brews as it should, but when I put 10 cups of water in it, I only get about 9 cups of brewed coffee. Where did the rest of the water go? Also, this pot leaks everywhere when pouring. We always have a rag nearby to wipe up the mess. You would think this company would test their products before putting them on the market. Their other designs with the taller pots work much better. For some reason this short, fat pot has some issues. Do not recommend!!

Just purchased this coffee maker. Water stays in reservoir after beep, spitting a small amount of water, taking over 20 minutes to brew 4 cups of coffee. Hoping its a flaw with this one because I really like the design.

If I had wanted a 10 cup machine, I would have bought one. This "12 cup" coffee maker is actually a 12x5oz=60oz capacity, rather than the usual 6oz cup. Therefore 60oz actually equals 10cups. This is not stated on outside of box and is misleading. The pause feature also drips a bit and I've only had it for one week.

3 MONTHS AND DOA,
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX31 12-Cup Programmable Pause N Serve Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel
I've only had this coffeemaker for about 3 months and this morning it decides to go dead. The electronics are shot already? After many attempts to unplug and retry the brew now button it is ultimately just another landfill item. I'll definitely stay away from any more Mr Coffee electronic coffee makers in the future and I'll pay more for a better brand and cross my fingers?
