All around excellence at bargain pricing.,

I had a Krupps and broke the pot. It would have cost me $23.00 with shipping to replace the pot. So I decided on this model of Mr. Coffee. Frankly, I just wanted a basic coffeemaker, no whistles and bells. Nothing complicated that required studying the book.
Just a cheap replacement. This fit the bill. After having this Mr. Coffee for several weeks I can tell you I absolutely love it. It is a very well designed machine and the coffee tastes great too. Highly recommended. A bargain.

It's Still Working,

I've used mine for 2 1/2 years.
It's inexpensive. And it still works. And I have to add I know of no really bad features (but I am not an expert in coffeemakers). My only complaint (and it's pretty important) is the quality of the brewed coffee. This model has a "filter basket". I believe the ones that have a "cone" shape result in a stronger brew. Also, the resultant coffee does not taste hot enough. I believe that models differ in this regard, and that a hotter brew tastes better.

Just got this to replace another one that got mold in the tank. Like it because of not having all the extra buttons. Had to stop filling the night before as this created a mold problem. Now I make sure it is dry after each use. It does a good job and the price is right.

Despite one minor flaw, I gave this coffee maker 5 stars - rare for me. This is the third Mr. Coffee of this type I have owned over the past eight(?) years. Usually because I break a kraft and it is cheaper/better to just buy a new maker. It does all I want it to - makes coffee in about 6 minutes - easy to make and simple, fast to clean. House guests can do it - NOT complicated. Can't beat the price. Not bad looking and has a "quality" feel to it that some more expensive ones don't. From the previous model to this one - I did notice Mr. Coffee corrected a few little issues - nice job. The one flaw? This model "gurgles" at the end of the cycle more than the previous one did. Nothing extreme - just odd.

Who approved the engineering on this carafe???,
This review is from: Mr. Coffee CG13 12-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)
How did this product make it to market after all the testing and focus groups and still produce a huge mess on the counter after every pour? I am not new at pouring coffee. I've had coffee every morning for at least 20 years and every blessed time I use a Mr. Coffee 12-cup carafe it drips all over the counter. I thought it was just me, but other reviews show that this is a common problem. The money you save buying this unit will be wasted in lost coffee, paper towels and irritation.

Craptastic, unless you LIKE grinds in your brew..,

I didn't purchase this through Amazon, but paid more at a local store because I wanted a coffee pot nao!. Sigh. This is worse than the 10 dollar one I had purchased at a dollar store- I just wanted a black one and am practically in tears because I threw the old one out when I should of kept it. The only feature I like is the swivel head water spout. Unfortunately, water doesn't steam out of the holes in the back so there's always liquid in it unless I leave it sitting on the edge of my counter with the lid up when not in use. The hot plate is too hot- After about an hour w/ less than half a pot being on there, it's literally boiling coffee. No automatic shutoff, which I like because I drink slowly, and pay 8 dollars for a small bag of coffee(hey, it's my perk lol) but if you go even 3 drops over the 12 cup line on carafe when filling it, there's a puddle to clean up. But what really REALLY irks me is that the pressure on the spout must be intense- I keep my filters in a plastic container designed to help them hold their shape and yet there are grinds in the pot. One or two I wouldn't mind, but I shouldn't have to refilter coffee because the mr. coffee brand filters don't work in it. Seriously blows. You get what you pay for.

worth the low price, but nothing special,
This review is from: Mr. Coffee CG13 12-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)
I've had this exact model for 2 years now. It still works. Coffee does not seem to get that hot. I don't even use cold creamer and can guzzle this down right out of the pot. Also, it is very cheap looking. Kind of an eye soar for someone who may be concerned about what is sitting on their counter tops.
Oh, one more thing. Not sure if they have improved the decanter since I bought mine, but it leaks all over the counter every time you go to pour a cup. So, if you buy this coffee maker make sure to buy a roll of paper towel too.

Not Bad,

I bought this to replace my trusty Bunn and I was pretty surprised by it. It's brew cycle is longer than I expected but I think it makes a damn good cup of coffee for the price. It's a little noisy but I don't think that's a big deal. My only complaint is that it makes a huge mess when you pour. The spout is off somehow and you will make a mess no matter how carefully you pour your cup of coffee. That said, if you don't mind wiping up a puddle of coffee every time you pour, it's a helluva deal.

This is a Fire Hazard. We Had it one week and it caught on fire. I just happened to walk into the kitchen and there it was burning on the kitchen counter. I pulled the plug and threw it out the front door. This item should be recalled.
