Leaks!,
By
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX23 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)
I've had two of this same model. The first just stopped working after a few months and was replaced by the company. The second leaks all over the countertop even though I wasn't overfilling. When I called the company, I was told they had had no complaints about this, but there are numerous complaints about the same issue with this model on the internet.
Won't buy Mr. Coffee again.

Display does NOT light,

I was disappointed to see that the display does not light - and is very hard to see - coffee maker itself if fine. But not being able to see the time - or the settings is very disappointing.

This is not a super fancy coffee pot, but it does the trick. Purchased this as a gift for someone and when they opened it and went to get it all set up, it didn't have a filter basket!

Where Have You Gone, Joe DiMaggio?,
By StarDriver "StarDriver" (90254) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mr. Coffee JWX23 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)
The great Joe DiMaggio used to be the spokesperson for Mr. Coffee products and and thankfully he's not with us anymore to witness the decline and fall of the company he once touted.I write this review as I wait 45 minutes for a pot of coffee to brew. There is the constant, incessant sound of bubbling and gurgling. There is steam fogging up the kitchen windows. But at the machine there is only the occasional drip, drip of water soaking through the coffee filter and into the pot. This is the second Mr. Coffee I purchased and this time the last. The first just stopped working, and this one now takes half the morning to brew a pot of coffee. Enough already! I'm finding it hard to believe that these sleekly designed coffee makers can't stand up to the old white plastic Mr. Coffee brewer I bought in the 1980's; the same one that was Made in the USA and lasted more than 15 years.

Dribble Pitcher,

My husband nicked named this the "Dribble Pitcher." I hate the too small filter and it takes forever to make coffee. Getting a new coffee maker today and this is going in the trash.

I haven't had any serious problems with this thing. I've had it for about 2 years and have to buy a replacement because the cats broke the carafe.
The only problems I've noticed are coffee grounds collect up around the overflow area and are difficult to clean out. Also the timer is surprisingly confusing and I'm never sure if I've done it right so I just don't use it.

2 machines defective I believe,

I have purchased 2 of these Mr. Coffee machines. Both from Target. I normally only make 4 cups during the week and 8 to 9 cups on the weekend. The first machine went back just before the expiration date on my receipt. If I made more than 8 cups the coffe grinds in the filter backed up to the top of the filter and into the coffee pot. I hate grounds in my coffee. If I wanted that I would make "Cowboy Coffee".
The 2nd machine is still in my house. Today was the worse day yet. We were given some Starbucks coffee. I made 9 cups and yep, the grounds overflowed again. But worse this time. I had kept my receipt, but low and behold it was over the expiration date. Not sure which machine I will buy now. I have been using Mr. Coffee for years...........

Excellent Product,

Purchased...and set up within 10 minutes...after washing, of course. Easy to set the clock and to program a future brew time. Bought the in-basket filter to use as well. It even lets you make "standard" and "strong" coffee!
The coffee produced is excellent, clean-up is a snap. There is an easy to read water guage on the side of the machine that makes knowing the water level a snap. If there is any one thing I'd like to have a bit better (and this is really a nit picky thing)....it does take a while to brew. But if that's the only "issue" with the machine, then it comes close to being perfect...and for the money, a real buy!

10 CUPS OF COFFEE ON THE COUNTERTOP,

This coffeemaker is not worth the trouble! BE WARNED, because you can never be prepared for the amount of leakage from this coffeemaker. My purchase of this machine resulted in 10 cups into the kitchen countertops, 2 cups in the carafe, and a big mess to clean. FYI-the clean button is for the machine, not the countertops. I have returned to my little 4 cup coffeemaker purchased years ago, and enjoy my 4 cups of coffee. Go ahead and spend a few dollars more, and save yourself the TIME, and enjoy your coffee.
