Loose Tea Lovers, this is nice!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mr. Coffee 3 Quart Adjustable Strength Iced Tea Maker TM75R
So I drink TONS of loose leaf iced tea. I make it every few days in a large boiling pot, about 4 quarts, with a large coffee pocket filter, stapled, with my loose tea nicely inside so it won't escape.
So when it was brought to my attention to purchase a Mr. Coffee Iced tea maker, I was intrigued. I was a bit worried with all the mixed reviews, but it works nicely. I don't see how people are leaking unless they don't stick the container anywhere near the mouth of the machine. I put a coffee filter in, about 4 spoonfuls of my decaf loose earl grey, and go at it! I don't like to 'water' down my strength (I keep it on the strongest setting) so I brew 3 times in a row to fill the container completely without the ice and just let it cook in the fridge either overnight or throughout the day. I also add 5 packets of Splenda right to the loose tea in the filter so I don't have to add it in later and get something to stir with. It's all done at once! I've had it for about a month now and I'm happy with it. Only thing I suggest if you're making it like me, 3 brews for the container back to back, let the filter thing stay for a few extra minute to drain the rest of the water out of it before adding more water as it will leak tea as you move it to put more water in the reservoir. |
