5.0 out of 5 stars Best small coffeemaker to date!
I have very limited counter space and need a coffeemaker with a small footprint. Unfortunately the choices are mainly between a 4 cup pot or a 10-12 cup pot. There are very few manufacturers offering coffemakers that brew 6-8 cups, and if they do, the price is high and/or the footprint is as big as the larger ones. This and a few other models offer 5 cups. Keep in mind...

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job
It is very easy to spill, unless you pour VERY slowly. It also makes coffee quickly, with no trouble. It's not slower or faster than any other similar coffee maker. But the first couple of pots will taste like plastic, even if you wash it, so I recommend brewing using vinegar a few times and then nothing but water for a couple of times before you use it to make coffee...

Keep in mind that the stated cups are only 5 oz. cups, so a 5 cup coffeemaker yields about 3 real life cups of coffee. I have tried most of the black and decker 5 cup models over the years, but this particular Mr. Coffee model is superior. It makes hot delicious coffee and does not drip when you pour it. It also comes with a permanent filter which is nice to have in case you run out of paper filters. I came here today to order another one as a backup, but the price went up from what I paid. Still a good deal, but I guess I'll check again after the holidays since I don't desparately need it.

for $18 this little guy is great! it makes enough coffee to fill 2 standard size coffee mugs. when i say normal size, i mean normal people size. not some mr. thermos 24 oz.

makes great coffee, is easy to clean, came with a mesh filter and one that actually works. i have a burr grinder and set it on medium and i get no leakage of grounds.

so, for the cost of 3 non-fat, sugar free, carmel swirl, blah, blah, blah machiattos i now have a coffee maker that brews up 2 cups of coffee for all of about 30 cents (if that).

the only down side of this coffee maker is that i now drink way too much coffeeeEEEEeeee!!!!!!! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great coffeemaker for my fiancee, November 16, 2010

He's the only coffee drinker in the house, so this is perfect for him, just for a cup or two of coffee. No paper filters to replace (yay!), built-in filter is a pain to clean (meh).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Little Coffee Pot Around!, January 24, 2011

I am thrilled with this little coffee maker. There are only two of us and one cup will usually do, but then we want another cup several hours later. In our bigger pot the coffee is horrible a few hours later. After sitting there for awhile it gets bitter and strong tasting with sludge at the botton. I got so tired of dumping over a half a pot of coffee with the larger machine, and trying to make less coffee in it just didn't come out right.

With the Mr. Coffee 5-cup pot we get two great cups of coffee, then it's easy to dump the used grounds and rinse out the pot. When we want another cup of coffee later on, it only takes a few minutes and we have fresh coffee again!

It comes with a permanent nylon filter which I prefer to paper filters. It makes nice "hot" coffee and it has a pause function so you can pour a cup while it's still making coffee. It's just a simple little pot that works well. Did I mention...it's cute too! I give it 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for 1 cup Coffees!, December 1, 2010
This review is from: Mr. Coffee TF6 5-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, White (Kitchen)
Bought it yesterday and brewed my first Dunkin Donut coffee today! Perfect for 1 cup coffees. I always hate the permanent coffee filters (one more thing to clean :) ) so using paper filter. Just remember to add 2 cups for getting 1 cup.
Had to experiment with the coffee grounds amount to get the strength I like. Turns out its about 1.5 table spoons and 2 cup (marks on the pot) for 1 mug of the exact strength of the store coffee. Brewed in a reasonable time.

Machine looks sturdy. Have to snap shut the top lid , its a bit flimsy (it feels like a under 20 bucks coffee maker). Ideal for a home office where you might want a couple of cups of fresh brew through out the day - instead of making 5 cups in the morning and drinking through the day.

So far love it!

But the first couple of pots will taste like plastic, even if you wash it, so I recommend brewing using vinegar a few times and then nothing but water for a couple of times before you use it to make coffee. They should tell you that in the instructions. My only other real complaint is that if you use the permanent plastic filter instead of a paper one, the coffee will be very weak. Also, if you are a heavy coffee drinker, buy yourself a regular coffee maker, not this one. The cups are only 5 oz each, not 8 oz. If you fill the pot to the rim it makes just enough coffee to fill two regular cups or travel mugs (not the jumbo kind). Perfect for one or two people who only need a single cup. For $14 bucks it's not bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little coffee maker that's so incredibly easy to use, February 22, 2011
This review is from: Mr. Coffee TF6 5-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, White (Kitchen)
What makes this coffee maker so great is it's simplicity. Just flip the switch. No clock or timer to worry about programming. It has a pause n' serve feature that allows you to pour a cup of coffee and prevents the coffee from discharging until the pot is put back on the plate.

Other thoughts: it comes with a removable nylon filter however I still think nothing beats the old fashioned paper filters. And this is my first coffee maker, but it seems a little on the loud side while it is making the coffee. At first I thought something was wrong with it because it was making excessive "slurping" noises while making the coffee, but maybe this is normal.

This little coffeemaker is just what we needed. There's only one coffee drinker in our house, and this is perfect. Makes a little more than 2 great big mugs of good hot coffee.

It's fast & efficient. The permanent filter is easy to clean, or a paper filter can be used.

We love it.
