This is the best coffeemaker that I have
ever owned as it has so many features such as
chlorine filter, beeper that lets you know it's through brewing or ready to automatically shut off. However, I need a new glass carafe
and I'm unable to locate one locally.

We had this coffee maker for about 8 months. Happy with the coffee, but the unit seemed to leak a bit from the bottom leaving dark stains under the machine. Also, the carafe cracked after a few months of use, it was very difficult to find a replacement and expensive! Within 2 months we had the carafe crack again, doing nothing different than we've done with other pots in the past that lasted for years. Beware if you buy it!

We are on Mr. Coffee Model: ISX23 #2 in as many months. After about 2 - 3 weeks of normal use it just stops brewing after 2 cups and leaves the remaining water sitting in the reservoir. This is even after cleaning out the coffee maker several times. Am very disappointed as I thought Mr. Coffee had quality merchandise.

After six months of use, the coffee maker stopped to function satisfactorily. The brewing cycle slowed down to a degree that I had to wait 20-25 minutes to get two cups of coffee. The other problem we experienced was that almost half of the water had evaporated during brewing. Assuming some sort of blockage, I cycled it with water and vinegar solution, which did not help. After I contacted Mr. Coffee, based on the date code I provided from the electrical cord, they informed me that the coffee maker was manufactured in 2006!!!
I am totally disappointed with the merchant operating under Amazon's umbrella for selling obsolete products. Had I known that the unit was already five years old, I would have never purchased it. The product should have been sold as a clearance item with the mfg. date clearly shown. Talking about cheating the customer!
I am very disappointed both with the coffee maker and with the overall buying experience that involves this merchant.
Update on 7/19/2011: Mr. Coffee has honored the warranty and sent me a lower end replacement coffeemaker currently being sold at Amazon for $39.99. I wrote about my experience to Amazon and they instanly refunded the $23 price difference.

With the exception of a couple of minor catastrophes when the whole thing overflowed and there was water and grounds everywhere and we had to all but dismantle the thing to get it clean...it brews coffee fine. We blamed ourselves for the overflows to give it the benefit of a doubt. Maybe we didn't get the carafe in just the right spot. That's not my complaint anyway, the main issue I have with this coffee maker is that there is an alarm...and by alarm, I mean a loud, piercing, beep that sounds 5 times (and can be heard all throughout my 1700 square foot house) to let you know that your coffee is finished brewing and then AGAIN to let you know that it is no longer fresh. Don't get me wrong, we bought the coffee maker specifically for the delay brew and auto shut off features. And until we had a baby, we didn't realize this would be a problem. Here's the annoying thing- you can't silence this beeping. There is no switch, no speaker, nothing in the manual, no information to that effect on the Mr. Coffee website, no advice online short of taking the whole thing apart and disabling it. So if we set it to brew, delayed or not, the beeping happens. And it wakes the baby. So, then, instead of having coffee and an extra hour to myself- I get neither. Basically, the inability to silence the alarm has rendered this coffee maker useless. It might as well not even brew coffee. If there's anyone you don't want to wake up the minute your coffee is ready in the morning...this coffee maker probably isn't for you.

I would not recommend this due to the fact it died just after the warranty period. While brewing, it gets very noisy also.

I am increasingly displeased with this coffee maker. I seem to have the same problems other reviews are having. The thing leaks! Most of the time the problem I have is the water just sitting it the grounds basket and not dripping into the carafe. Or if I try to get a cup of coffee before the whole pot is brewed, it keeps pouring the rest onto the heating plate. Also the seal around the plastic top of the carafe is broken because water pours out when I fill the reservoir. I shouldn't have to hold a towel against the carafe to fill the coffee pot.

My wife and I got this as a wedding present last year, which is why I don't complain too much about it. But it is a very irritating machine. If you're looking to buy a coffee maker, stay away from this one! I'll never buy Mr. Coffee brand again.

We've had our ISX23 for two years, and lately it's producing alot of steam but not much coffee. I do clean it regularly with vinegar, and I think that something must be blocking the water from going through the tube to the drip dispenser. I tried to take the machine apart myself, thinking that this would probably be pretty easy to fix. well, you cannot take it apart....it's mostly molded plastic and then I tried to take the bottom off, I found that you would need a special shaped screwhead to fit in the screw....
Over the years, this machine has leaked alot. When guests use it, if they do not push the coffee filter holder right down into the slot, then the coffee leaks. Water has condensed into the clock, so that does not work...actually sometimes it does work, which is kind of interesting, but it's not reliable. I love the idea of all the features, but it just does not work very well.

Obviously, the alarm that beeps five times when it's done brewing is a little bit irritating. Leaks too.

We purchased this coffee maker over a year ago, and were so pleased with the quality of the coffee. I myself am an ex-Starbucks employee, and was always so pleased every morning at my cup of coffee made by this machine. It always worried me however, that I could not physically see where the water resevoir went, and therefore could not monitor its cleanliness. (Mosit dark environment, etc) I would recommend that if you get this coffee maker that you are very diligent about cleaning it with vinegar. We were not as diligent as we should have been, and I recently discovered that it was totally moldy. (This was horrifying for me as I am a total clean freak.) I basically have to throw it away because I cannot actually see inside the machine to clean it. Hope this was helpful.
