Lydia Carmichael is irate because she believes her beloved Aunt Tempera was wronged by L.J. Reynolds's Mr. Complete Escort Service. Her aunt's escort took advantage of a lonely female who fell in love with the gigolo. Lydia filed a complaint with the police and decides she must personally take action by going undercover as a client to expose this firm as a "sex for hire" male prostitution company.

NYPD Detective Parker informs Mr. Complete Escort Service owner Luke Reynolds that another complaint was filed against his company involving a charge of illicit sex. Luke tells the cop that he fired the escort for that reason as he runs a clean operation. Luke knows his foster brother and business rival Rhew Burgess, owner of At Your Service, has caused his recent woes. However, he overhears Lydia's tirade and plan when she speaks in a public place to a friend. He decides to go along with her ploy as her escort, but finds himself incredibly attracted to Lydia, but if she fails to reciprocate any move he makes it will affirm her belief that he is running a criminal operation.

Though the use of coincidence in which the two protagonists have meetings at the same time in Danny's Bar and Grill, fans will enjoy this gender battle between two wonderful lead characters. The story line is at its best when Luke is not sure whether to trust Lydia with his feelings for her because she proclaimed to her friend she planned to shut down his business and put him behind bars. Yet he cannot walk away as he finds his attraction for her overwhelming. Humorous and hunk heaven, Sheridon Smythe spins a delightful tale.

Well, wowzers! I have never read any books by Sheridon Smythe, but after reading Mr. Complete, I will be reading more of her. From when I picked this book up, till I finished it, I couldnt put it down. It was funny, oh so funny! I couldnt stop laughing. How I love stories like this one. I liked the supporting characters and the plot was great. When Lydia and Luke got together the sparks just flew, and it was hot. My cheeks got red. This has been one of the best books that I have read in a while. I will be getting more, and I hope they are as good as this book is. Seems to me from the reviews on her books, you either love them or dont. I fall into the "do" category. this is going on my keeper shelf. I highly recommend this book. Great story.

Ok, I have to admit that I didn't finish the book so maybe things got alot better but boy, I sure doubt it! The premise was just so incredibly cheesy I simply couldn't force myself to finish.

The hero of the story runs a male escort business and strangely his step brother runs a rival escort business (I suppose an "evil twin" would have been too obvious). When one of his employees seduces a patron and the police come calling, Hero man thinks that snotty step-brother may have arranged the whole illegal transaction in order to run the rival brother out of business.

The sweet and attractive neice of the poor seduction victim decides to help the police bring down the male prostitution ring. Somehow as she is talking about her plan to call for an escort in the hopes that she will be able to prove the man is a gigalo, Hero Man over hears her and waits for her call. He decides that he should escort her himself and so the incredibly juvinile story begins.

If I were writing a sitcom about a laughable romance novelist, this is the book she'd be working on in episode one. By the second episode though, I hope she'd do a little better.

What can I say about Mr. Complete. It was definitely a page turner. Lydia Carmichael was trying to bring down Luke Reynold's business because she thought they were gigolos and because one of his excorts seduced her aunt Tempera and took her money. So she's going to get one of the escorts to sleep with her for money and then take that evidence to the police department. Unknown to her, Luke already knows her plan and he has a plan of his own. Since she's planning on pretending to be a client, he's going to pretend to be a gigolo. Unknown to both of them, there's something going on that neither of them can stop. An attraction that is undenible. Luke will always be Lydia's gigolo.

So first off, I've read this book a couple times now so you know I enjoy it. It's a fun book too read with lots of silliness. Having said that, I have to be in just the right mood to read it and I can't be interested in thinking too hard. This is one of those books that feels like they put in all the silliness at the expense of things actually making sense. I've seen it in a bunch of books by this author. It's the sort of stuff like the hero gets caught in his zipper and they had to unzip to get him out, but he was taking off his pants at the time - only an unzip should have happened already. As long as you can just read and enjoy without trying to fit all the pieces together, it's a great read. If it's going to annoy you when things don't quite add up, better to skip it.
