3.0 out of 5 stars Does NOT Handle 15 Gallons Per Minute As Advertised!
This funnel is only "okay" and is nothing great.

Yes it does filter dirt and water from the fuel, but we have 350 gallon fuel tanks on our boat and wanted to run ALL diesel fuel through this funnel when fueling in the Bahamas because they are notorious for having water in their fuel.

Yes it does filter dirt and water from the fuel, but we have 350 gallon fuel tanks on our boat and wanted to run ALL diesel fuel through this funnel when fueling in the Bahamas because they are notorious for having water in their fuel.

It took several minutes to pump only 6 gallons of fuel because we had to pump sooooooo sloooooooow so that the funnel would not overflow.

It does its job, but very slowly and certainly NOT the 12-15 gallons per minute as advertised. I'm sorry, but I would say more like 1 gallon per minute.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only thing better then the filter was the customer service, June 25, 2010

I purchased the filter to eliminate any water or foreign debris from contaminating the fuel system in my boat tanks. It seems to to a good job in the filter department, and is reasonable in the time it takes for the fuel to get through the 10 micon filters. I purchased the 2 head model for this purpose.
The real story came when I filled the funnel up with water, to see if any water would pass through. Water passed through at the rate of 3 large drips in 15 seconds. Sent a email to customer service, and they informated me the instructions stated to only fill the funnel 1/3 up the filter head to check for water passage. I did, and NO water came through. The great part is, they got back to me in 15 minutes, unlike some companies that will wait 15 days to answer you question.

Filter is well-made and performs as advertised. Lets no water through, yet allows a fast flow of gasoline or diesel. Pouring spout for emptying out the residue is a convenient feature. I use it for SUVs and boats in Brazil. For direct filling on a vehicle, you'll probably have to fit an extension tube to the outlet spout, since the filter must be used in a more or less level position.

I received my Mr. Funnel within 8 days of ordering. The funnel works as advertized. As an experiment I added 2 tablespoons of water to a pint of kerosene and filtered it. I analyzed the residue in the funnel and measured about 2 1/2 tablespoons of a mixture of kerosene.

Some people have complained that there is a lot of fuel that remains in the funnel since the filters are not flush with the bottom. This can be reduced significantly by merely swishing the liquid from side to side and tilting Mr. Funnel to one side.

I plan on purchasing a smaller Mr. Funnel that I can carry easily on my motorcycle so I can be assured of the quality of gasoline.

Similar to a "California" Funnel, this Shurhold product (sold under a variety of names) costs a fraction of what a California funnel costs, and does the same thing - preventing water and debris from entering your fuel tank.

5.0 out of 5 stars works like a champ, November 25, 2011

I had some snowmobiles with water in the gas tanks. I siphoned all the gas out and through the Mr. Funnel 15C, and like some magic trick, all the water stayed in the funnel and the gas went on through. Saved about the cost of the funnel in the gas that I saved. It is a great product and works like a champ. Dirt and debris were filtered out also. Would recommend this product for anywhere you need to clean fuel up that was contaminated with water or particles. It does go through a bit slower than stated but does work very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Funnel.....own a outboard???, November 4, 2011
This review is from: Mr. Funnel AF15CB Fuel Filter (Lawn & Patio)
In today's world of ETHANOL especially in high-tech outboards 2 or 4 strokes, water and ethanol don't mix. Literally and figuratively!!

I run 2 water fuel seperators, and a plain fuel filter on a Honda 225 6 cylinder outboard that costs 20K!

But, still use my Mr. Funnel to seperate any junk and water that comes out of the pumps, BEFORE it goes in my boats fuel tank.

And YES, the gas stations pumps, do have WATER in it. And debris.

Mr. Funnel does exactly what it claims. But do't get all blown off, because some "anal folks" complain about that it leaves wasted gas in it. Just slosh the remainder around and you'll get most. The objective is to trap water, so yeah it'll leave some fuel in the funnel...big whoop!

Besides all that it's just a great tool to have in your shop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flow way to slow, July 25, 2011
This review is from: Mr. Funnel AF15CB Fuel Filter (Lawn & Patio)
I have a 21' boat and was very concerned about water in the fuel so I purchased the F15C funnel. It is built sturdy but the flow rate is way to slow to try to fill up at a dock. May be good for a small boat but not a boat with an eighty gallon tank. The end of the funnel is to large to fit in the fill up hole that is build into the boat so I could not get any air to flow out of the tank as the gas went through the filter.
