4.0 out of 5 stars good immediate adaquete heat for 2 car insulated garage
This heater based on it's btu's immedately heats a 2 car garage. Within 8 minutes of ignition you can be comfortable with a sweatshirt or long sleeve flannel. The standard gas grill (20lb) tank lasts me about a week and a half if I am out there for 3 or 4 hrs a night 6 nights a week. You do turn it off and on intermittently about every 30 minutes if you have drafts...

3.0 out of 5 stars Shop Heater
Heats well but not good for a shop with metal shop tools. Too much moisture in the Propane for un-vented heater. Doesn't take long for rust to appear on the tool surfaces. This would be true for any un-vented heater running on Propane.

You do turn it off and on intermittently about every 30 minutes if you have drafts like I do but that's not too bad. I would prefer permanent heat but for someone on a budget for the heater and the fuel it's a great alternative to permanent heat. Plus you can bring it to a jobsite if needed. I have heated a 2000 sq ft 2 story house during rehab processs comfortably with this heater. Almost too small for that but plenty good for the conditons there and at home. Happy with the heater and it only costs 15 bucks to fill the tank.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fine Heater, April 5, 2006

I used this heater outside for 7 hours straight and I pretty much burned thru the entire 20# tank at full throttle. It did a great job. I did notice that at full power, the tank really iced up and seemed to reduce the heat output as the fuel level dropped. The height adjustment setting is convenient too. It held up fine in a breezy conditions. It was raining heavily and I operated under an EZ up awning. The heater got pretty wet from indirect rain. After two days of these conditions, I did notice that several of the exterior screws that are also painted black showed signs of rust. The manual did say to not let it get wet while it was operating. The ambient air temp was between 45 and 50 and while others around me were in jackets, I wore a t shirt.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!, January 8, 2008

I have a partially insulated two car garage in Colorado. With the outdoor temp. showing at 19 deg. my garage went from 38 to 60 in about 30 minutes. It's a great little heater and easy to store. I like the fact the housing stays cool to the touch even after long operation. On the low setting it just sips propane and that's also a huge plus. I'm very satisfied with this purchase!!!!!

I have owned Mr. Heater products for years. I still use the single tank Mr. Heater that I have had for 20+ years without no problems. This forced-air heater is used in my 24x26 detached garage. It brings the temperature up 20-25 degrees in less than 30 minutes on the low setting which sipps the fuel at a lower rate. I then turn it off and turn it back on when the temperature starts to dip. Amazon shipped my product to me in a couple of days after ordering. Super fast shipping plus great price.

I would definitely recommend buying this product.

I received this heater promptly. It works very well, just like expected. I purchased this model because it can be adjusted from 30000 to 55000 btu. That is a very good feature. I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend purchasing this heater.

I use this heater regularly to heat a garage in upstate NY when working on my cars in winter.

It works well but is a tad on the loud side.

The adjustable heat control is a nice feature on the days I don't need the full BTU rating.

Great heater, works well and I would recommend it to anyone. Set at the 55,000 BTU setting, it is a little noisy but not an issue as reported by others. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is they put the old style LP connector on the hose. Maybe not all states have upgraded to the new connection, but I purchased the new connector and replaced it.

I like to work on my cars but in the winter, it is a downright drag!!! I got this heater because of the dual settings and the ease of using propane. I got the tank and fill at a nearby Lowes for $50. It lasted about 8 hours in mixed high/low settings. The garage is not toasty but you can easily work in a sweatshirt and jeans and feel comfy.

The unit is made in China but at least Mr. Heater is based in Cleveland, OH.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quick heat, November 27, 2009

This heater works very well with only little word of caution, this is a larger size room heater, and it works better if you have some control of ventilation, as it clearly works on the concept of hogging some of the oxygen. Other than the fact that I wouldn't run it all the time for respiratory concerns this heater works well and heats a room pretty quickly. I was also surprised at how much heat you get before using up a 5 gallon propane tank.

P.S. I never had any issues with the ignitor as some have complained. Mine fires right up and might need the ignitor pushed twice after a couple seconds and it is good to go.
