5.0 out of 5 stars Great space heater for garage
Bought this to heat up my garage when I need to do a project in the winter (I'm in the Northeast). Amazon had the best price - prompt delivery. It does a good job(my garage is about 400 sq-ft), uses a standard 20# propane tank . Nice and compact for storage when you're not using it.

3.0 out of 5 stars hot air
It took a good hour to get this thing going - holding in the 'pilot' button got real old after the first minute... and out went the flame.

Then a minute longer, and out again.

Eventually, having held in the button until my thumbs turned blue, it stayed on long enough for me to stretch my hands out. pffffffft.

and over... and over...

If it stays lit long enough this unit will work nicely to warm an uninsulated 2 car garage with 13' ceilings in under an hour.

Of course, you'll have crippled hands and be almost deaf from the fan & roar of the flame - but heck!

Good value, a little on the noisy side, but once you break the thermocouple in, it's alright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Propane Forced air heater, January 12, 2008
Amazing product for the price. I put this out in my garage in 30 degree weather, and I was working on my car in my t-shirt. The propane even lasts a long time, and I never even had to crack a door for air, the propane stays at the ground, and seaps out through cracks in the floor and under the garage door

5.0 out of 5 stars It's great for the price, August 4, 2009
It's a bit loud and I wish there was a setting to control the amount of heat (it's either full on or off) but for the money it can't be beat. I have a 2 car garage shop and it will make the room warm within about 20 minutes.

The heater arrived in picture-perfect condition two days after I ordered it. Within five minutes, after UPS left, I had it set up and making heat. It has worked flawlessly for several days now. Starts right up every time and heats up my two-car garage in about twenty minutes. Yes, it is a little noisy, but that is characteristic of these types of heaters.

I highly recommend this heater. For the price, you can't beat it...

I too find this to be a good model to heat a 2-car garage. A part broke off of my old one last year (my fault), and I ordered a new heater just to have for when it got cold. Well, I just fired this new one up this morning (11/28/11) and it worked fine right out of the box. Didn't have to hold the button for more than 15 seconds (you gotta wonder about some of these other reviewers). Yes, it is loud, but that's the nature of this type of heater. 20 minutes and my garage was nice and toasty (you should be wearing a sweater anyway!). Just to make the process a bit easier, I connect the electrical plug for the fan to an extension cord with a switch on it. This way I don't have to physically plug and unplug the cord to stop the fan. (Of course, you always first turn off the gas, then the fan.)
But this is a good unit for the money. If you need quiet heating in your garage, then you'll spend big bucks for a wall unit. It doesn't get all that cold down here very often to justify that expense for me.

I am a home improvement contractor and I am very impressed with this little heater. it put out a tremendous amount of heat for a small unit. Allows me to install doors and windows in the winter without me or my customers freezing.

3.0 out of 5 stars mine worked fine, BUT, December 11, 2009
This review is from: Mr. Heater 35,000 BTU Propane Forced-Air Heater #MH35FA (Kitchen)
Mine has operated flawlessly, BUT I'm surprised no one else has mentioned the fumes this thing emits. In a garage with a door open it's not too noticeable, but if I close the outside door the fumes become overpowering. In an unoccupied building we were working on the fumes became so strong we had to stop the work and air out the building for several hours...could not use the unit in this scenario. Maybe there is something defective about the one I got since no one else seems to mention this problem.

I ordered one of these a year ago. When It came, It had an inoperative thermocoupler. I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement came and had the same issue. To use this heater I have to clamp the the"primer" button down which eliminates the only safety feature designed into it. Sometimes the heater won't ignite regardless of fuel flow. Do not buy this piece of JUNK!
