This song is currently free and I'm totally thrilled because it is one of my kids favorite holiday songs from a great old holiday special "The year w/o a Santa Claus" (I think) It reminds me of when I was a kid and I'd watch that Xmas special and now my children are enjoying the show and music as well! It's worth the .99 but even better FREE! Happy Holidays!!

Mr. Heatmiser is slower than some of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's other songs, but it's still a fine, big band reminiscence of The Year Without a Santa Claus. (If BBVD wanted to be completely faithful to that Rankin/Bass TV special, it would have named the track Mr. Heat Miser, two words.)

If your Christmas mix keeps looping around to the same old songs, this makes a great change of pace. Especially since it's free.

This is one of those songs that many younger people don't get. They haven't seen the tv special that it comes from and they just don't understand the meaning. But for those of us who are old enough to remember that Rankin-Bass special, it's perfect! I can't think of a better group to do the remake and it makes me smile every time I hear it. It's just a fun little song, and the price can't be beat.

This is an entertaining song. While it does mention Christmas in the chorus, it really isn't necessarily a Christmas song, per se. The real focus is on two characters with polar opposite preferences of weather and temperature. Since I have not been fortunate enough to see the original special that this song came from, I can't comment on where it fits into the story, but I think the fact that this song isn't strongly attached to the holiday actually makes it a bit more of an evergreen song. Listen in the middle of the summer and call yourself Heat Miser if you like. I'm happy being a Snow Miser...

As to the quality of the song, first of all, when it comes to modern swing, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy can't really go too far wrong. They are experts of the craft of making music that sounds like it was recorded decades ago but with impeccable fidelity. That said, this song is a bit slower tempo than their more popular songs, so if you are already familiar with their music, be warned that it isn't Zoot Suit Riot. It is still superbly crafted and is a refreshing change of tempo from the run of the mill Christmas fare. Since this song isn't really directly about the holiday, there isn't anything to object to. Unless you will only put religious music in your playlist, there is no reason not to give this excellent song a try. And if you are only looking for religious music, you don't need me to tell you this ain't it...

A Year Without A Santa Claus is one of our family favorites and my husband and his brother have always loved cold miser and heat miser... mainly because they bear an uncanny resemblance physically to the characters. So when I saw this available for free download, I couldn't pass it up.

Since it was free, I wasn't expecting much but even my husband likes it. It is performed well and the arrangement is very similar to the soundtrack in terms of the instruments used. It has an upbeat bouncy rhythm that my kids like ... it is definitely one Christmas song we can all agree on and that is a very difficult thing to find in our family.

This might have been a silly song in a Rankin-Bass extravaganza but I've always had a soft place in my heart for it. This is a great take on this tune and a song that is really fun to listen to.

We love Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in our home. It's just a fun group with a lot of fun music. This song is a favorite of ours as well. We completely enjoy this. The tune is catchy and the music is typical BBVD.

I've loved this song since watching "The Year Without a Santa Claus" cartoon when I was younger. This is a great version that will have you singing along with this fun song. I was able to take advantage of a free download offer which made it a great holiday gift to myself. I have really enjoyed this addition to my MP3 collection.

This is a fun little Christmas song from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - their take on a ditty from one of those old Rankin-Bass XMas specials. It's not yet another tired remake that most already have in their holiday collection, but it's not Lady Gaga either. Perfect choice Amazon!

So many artists try to put a different twist on classic Christmas songs. Here's a truly different twist--a song that hasn't already been done to death. I'll admit my bias--The Year Without a Santa Claus was one of my favorite Christmas specials growing up, and I just love Mr. Heat Miser. I loved that someone acknowledged that a sizable population lives in the sunbelt, where Christmas isn't about snow, but about sitting around the pool in shirt sleeves.

BBVD does a great job with the song. I often find them a little bland, but they've done a pretty swingin' job here. This song is definitely going in my favexmastunes playlist.

If you're looking for a fun, upbeat, different Christmas song, give this one a listen.
