4.0 out of 5 stars good book, completely different from the movie, September 11, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have always been a huge fan of Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, so finally I found a copy of the book and was real excited. If you have watched the movie and want to read this book, you need to accept the fact before you read it that there are no similarities between the book and movie versions of Mr. Hobbs. The only thing the two have in common is partially the bird hunting trip, and the fact that a man named Mr. Hobbs took his family on a vacation, but the similarities end there. Even a few names have been changed. If I were Mr. Streeter, I would have taken my name off of the movie version. Both of them are great, but in their own way, and should not be put side by side.
