Mr. Jitterbones is quintessential Fuchs -- A bit of comic book fun, a bit of Jack the Ripper lore. As always he does a great job of creating a rich atmosphere and likable characters. The ending really turns things on its head and leaves a shiver. To top it off, there is a great bit of poetry added on to create a nice little myth about the villain. A spooky, fun Halloween read that's good any time of the year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Halloween doesn't have to be celebrated once a year., June 12, 2009
I remember reading Mr. Jitterbones years ago in a Halloween themed anthology and diggin' it. Unfortunately, that anthology didn't last due to a poor publisher so I was excited to see this available again, and thrilled to find an original poem tagged on to the end of the story.

If you read enough of AP's stories, you'll see he has an obsession with Jack the Ripper, and who knows, perhaps Fuchs has the story right in Mr. Jitterbones. It's a creepy Halloween tale that can be enjoyed any time of year. Though it's slow to start, the story has staying power and is perfect for this medium.

Check it out for yourself, and if you hear those bones a knockin'....
