4.0 out of 5 stars Good Collection but..........................
I have been a fan of Shaggy since I first heard "Oh Carolina" and I love this Greatest Hits collection but for one track. On my album back, it says that Janet Jackson sings "Luv Me Luv Me" with him.

This cannot be true for the version on this album as it sounds absolutely nothing like Janet nor like the Track that was on the "How Stella got her Groove back"...

I have been a fan of Shaggy since I first heard "Oh Carolina" and I love this Greatest Hits collection but for one track. On my album back, it says that Janet Jackson sings "Luv Me Luv Me" with him.

This cannot be true for the version on this album as it sounds absolutely nothing like Janet nor like the Track that was on the "How Stella got her Groove back" Soundtrack. It may just be my copy of the disc, but somehow I doubt it. This fact prevents me from giving this release the five stars it rightly deserves.

Other than this song, the album is "SWEET". His Maxi Priest collaborations among others are timeless and the two versions of "Mr. Boombastic" don't hurt this compilation either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sheer refresment!!, January 29, 2002

This CD is a compilation of his olders hits. It has some of his MOST standout accomplishments to date on it, TO ME. The cover art back, inside and front are a treasure. If you liked SHAGGY's music PRIOR to HotShot, you will love this collection. And I own all 6 CD's released by him to date and 40+ related works. The CD of this I have has a different cover than advertised in here. But, it does not take away from the most enjoyable content I own right now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember these, November 30, 2007
This review is from: Mr. Lover Lover: The Best Of Shaggy Volume 1 (Audio CD)
There all here, Mr Loverman. Boombastic, That Girl with Maxi Priest & more. If you like Shaggy and you haven't bought this then do so know. Is there a bad track on the album, well if there is 1 it didn't stand out.

Still not convinced, for only 10$ this won't let you down or run out, ever! You'll never get tired of this album and the opening remix of Boombastic states that this album is exactly that - Boombastic.

Mr. Lover Lover should be looking to make another Best of soon...

2.0 out of 5 stars This is his best?, April 21, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Lover Lover: The Best Of Shaggy Volume 1 (Audio CD)
I got this cheap, so I decided to risk purchasing it from what I'd heard on the radio- either this isn't his best music, or he's seriously deficient on ideas.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hey look guys, Kermit the Frog released a reggae album, June 11, 2003
This review is from: Mr. Lover Lover: The Best Of Shaggy Volume 1 (Audio CD)
...oh....wait, you mean this ISN'T Kermit? This is supposed to be a SERIOUS album? Astonishing.

Considering this mindless junk "reggae" must have Bob Marley rolling in his grave. This is just some nasal-voiced bleating over an overused R&B beat. This guy has at least one of the most ANNOYING voices I have ever heard. This is not singing, people! Nor is it reggae! It's just another dumb pop album that won't mean a thing in two weeks. Want real reggae? Buy Bob Marley or even Sublime. Don't waste your hard-earned money on this ridiculousness.

It's "Not Helpful" clicking time again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where's scooby?, February 25, 2005
This review is from: Mr. Lover Lover: The Best Of Shaggy Volume 1 (Audio CD)
I like Shaggy, always have. He's high as a kite most of the time and always hungry, but I root for people like that. When I saw a best of Shaggy, I figured Casey Kasem got whacked out on pot and recorded and album. That would be very entertaining. Instead I get some guy that sounds like he has a bad cold singing(if you call it that) about how much the ladies love him. Yo Shag, that's my territory. If I want your women I just come over and get them to go with mine if you want to keep popping off. What? Are you wanting to fight? OK Shaggy, you and me outside in 23 minutes and I'll take you down? (23 minutes later). OK Shaggy, it's go time! How bout that? That's what I thought. Oh great here come the cops. Yes, I'm Rich King's breakfast nook and you can take him downtown. I don't really care for this Mr. Lover Lover collection because it's too busy and overly preoccupied with politics. If my car is having brake problems it's my dang business and you should stay out of it. I've already called just brakes and the estimate was too high.
