5.0 out of 5 stars ... Japery at it's best, August 8, 2000

This review is from: Mr Methane.Com (Audio CD)
For those of you who are easily amused and prefer gut-wrenching, lavatory humor, "Mr Methane.Com" is a must for your CD collection. This is more than just your typical "Pull My Finger"-type farting. Mr Methane performs both original and classical tunes via "controlled anal voicing", a type of farting that is precise in both pitch and tone. In essence, this man sings through his bottom. I know this first hand, as I had the privilege of volunteering as a "fart verifier" in part of Mr Methane's live show when he was in the metro Detroit area in January. There definitely is no trickery here.

The original songs on this album, like "Flatulate the Conga" and "Cut the Cheese", are very fun, upbeat numbers. For the mellower crowd, you will enjoy "Spring / Hamlet", "Blue Danube", and "Swan Lake". In addition, this album is a great way to introduce your children, both young and old, to the "fun side" of the classics.

The grand finale to this album is, appropriately enough, the "1812 Overture", in which Mr Methane does not miss a beat.

A word of caution: Do not listen to this CD while driving or operating heavy equipment, as you will be prone to outbursts of uncontrollable laughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars If U luv music & U luv farts, this is what you've been lookin' 4!, October 25, 2005
This review is from: Mr Methane.Com (Audio CD)
I purchased this album used & listened to it in my friend's car (after seein' this on Fart.com & then loggin' into the Mr. Methane.com website & reading about it, I knew I had to own it!)& buy did I laff my ass off! I laffed so hard my chest began to hurt, & later, as expected, I sh-t myself! My buddy was also amazed by the "Controlled Anal Voicing" that was heard on this album of musical farting. One the butt-trumpet rendition of "Blue Danube" hit 'im, boy, did he start giggling uncontrollably. & I'm quite amazed by the fact that all the Colon Coughs are 100% REAL! It's hard to find a British superhero that farts on command, but, we found one rite here!
I'd be nice to see his Christmas album & "Let's Rip" DVD available here, though, cause once I listened to this hee-larious CD, I was left craving more anal japery.
but in the meantime, if U luv music & U luv farts, this, my flatulent freinds, is what you've been lookin' 4!
(ends e-mail with a long, loud, wet fart)

5.0 out of 5 stars Beans Beans the musical fruit, December 7, 2004
This review is from: Mr Methane.Com (Audio CD)
Mr. Methane is a one of a kind and master of the art of butt trumpeting. With a highly controled sphincter and master of colon pressure, Mr. Methane can fart the musical scales and put them to good use. The beautiful rendition of Swan Lake is the jewel of this CD crown. His 'Romeo and Juliet' will have you missing and thinking of your first true love. It is with bitter sweet sadness that we relive our youth through the brown eye of Mr. Methane.

The soulful sound of Blue Danube will have you tapping your feet and whistling along. Othello and Hamlet are two other standouts that will have you so enthralled you'll want to take lessons. If there was only a teacher.

This is a great CD for any occasion; church social, wedding, graduation, or just around the camp fire. I've already told my wife that I want the 1812 Overture played at my funeral.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr Methane- original and funny!, August 5, 2000

Just listen to the samples. If you feel you have a light view of life and are looking for some wonderful belly laughs, purchase this CD from an original artist who uses his bum to remix some classics and develop his own tunes. Funny for parties and to just laugh off your troubles! (-:

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 STARS IN THE "PULL MY FINGER HUMOR" AWARD...., September 5, 2000
This review is from: Mr Methane.Com (Audio CD)
OK... IS IT INTELLECTUAL? NOPE.... IS IT LIKELY TO WIN YOU FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE? WELL... THAT DEPENDS ON IF THE PEOPLE YOUR TRYING TO WIN OVER ARE NINE YEAR OLD BOYS! MY SON ADORES THIS CD. I BOUGHT THIS FOR HIM AS A JOKE...WELL...THE JOKE IS ON ME. NOW HE IS GOING AROUND THE HOUSE "SINGING" (AND I USE THE TERM "SINGING" IN THE LOOSEST POSSIBLE TERMS, YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS TO KNOW OF WHAT I SPEAK...) THE SONGS. THIS ISN'T FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, BY THE WAY. THE HUMOR IS REALLY CRUDE (READ: THE MAIN THING THIS MAN CAN DO IS FART AT WILL... AND THEY SAY YOU NEED A COLLEGE EDUCATION!) AND IT IS A ONE JOKE CD. I'VE HEARD OF KIDS WHO CAN BURP THE ALPHABET BUT....MAN...WHAT DOES THIS GUY EAT??? ANYWAY, IF YOU WANT TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH A NINE YEAR OLD BOY, OR KNOW SOMEONE EQUALLY ON THAT LEVEL...AND DON'T WE ALL? THIS WOULD MAKE A BIG HIT WITH THEM. ON THE OTHER HAND IF YOUR LOOKING TO OFFEND SOMEONE THIS COULD WORK THAT WAY TOO... I GAVE THIS 5 STARS BECAUSE IT IS EXACTLY, UNABASHEDLY WHAT IT IS.... I WOULDNT PLAY IT AT A PARTY BUT I'LL BET YOU MY SON IS GONNA WANT TO PLAY IT AT HIS NEXT ONE.

4.0 out of 5 stars For stronger stomachs and the immature, July 25, 2000

Mike Rolfsmeyer (Warren, MI United States) - See all my reviews

I actually don't have this disc, but have heard just about every track on the local 'morning zoo' radio show. Mr. Methane (pronounced Meee-thane) is an English guy who literally injests and expels air with his lower sphincter muscle to create bathroom noises in place of a lead singer. You might not believe it when you hear it, but I've seen this guy live (Detroit can't get enough) and it's all too real.

His career has a legitimate foundation, back to a renaissance-era frenchman named Le Petomaine (spelling?) who 'sang' songs and performed some nutty party tricks for royalty.

Basically a disc with original songs, skits and some classical with a flatulant twist. You'd best to ration out the tracks, a straight listen through could leave you gagging. 'Flatulate the conga' is probably the most relistenable tune, while 'Romeo and Juliet' has the single most hilarious 'vocalization'. The only bummer is he couldn't clear the popular cover songs he's done on the air. What this guy does to Stevie Wonder is a sin AND a miracle.

Not an everyday listen. Though this has to have some historical importance, and is great at parties (if your friends are loaded or have the same 'maturity problems' I do).
