Mr Nicodemus Easy was a gentleman who lived down in Hampshire; he was a married man, and in very easy circumstances. Most couples find it very easy to have a family, but not always quite so easy to maintain them.

Great book, poor edition,
By Watoosa (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mr. Midshipman Easy (Paperback)
This is a wonderful read. The protagonist is reminiscent of both Horatio Hornblower and Huckleberry Finn, and Marryat's style prefigures that of P. G. Wodehouse--I couldn't believe it was written in the 1830s.However, this edition had LOTS of typos. It reads as if someone with a poor command of English was taking dictation. Get a different one.
