5.0 out of 5 stars Best Summer Soundtrack of the Year!!! Instant iPOD playlist!
Great film, I laughed sooo much. Anybody who's ever been in a relationship will relate to this film and laugh all the way through!

What a great and fun album. It's like an iPOD playlist ready to go! All *SEVENTEEN* songs tie in to the theme of the film of love, anti-love and spies! To me Album stands out and stands alone as perfect "summer love (anti-love?)...

3.0 out of 5 stars holayy!
Well, the movie was fab, so I thought I'd check out the soundtrack, and wow... it was quite something. I liked it, but does EVERY star-crossed-lovers movie's soundtrack have to have "Tainted Love" on it?

5.0 out of 5 stars Too bad there aren't more soundtracks like this one, March 27, 2006

Not only was this soundtrack well-constructed to fit a high-paced, action/romance-type movie, but it is also attractive to a wide variety of personal musical tastes. From more traditional sounds like the latin Mondo Bongo and Pink Martini, to more pop rock sounds like Love Stinks and Poison, this collection is upbeat and fun to listen to from beginning to end. It has also proven to be an especially great CD to have on a road trip. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the iPod or to play in the convertible, July 2, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mr & Mrs Smith (Audio CD)
Fun assortment of tunes from the movie soundtrack, thoughtfully and cleverly arranged & presented for moveigoers and musiclovers alike.

Thematically, this is a collection of Love You/Hate You songs both classic and updated. Definitely worth adding to your music library, even if you're not a "soundtrack" fan per se.

5.0 out of 5 stars Close your eyes and say aaahhhh!, October 24, 2005
By
Angie (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mr & Mrs Smith (Audio CD)
This is one of the most sensual and soothing albums I've heard in a while!! Much like another soundtack CD I'm quite fond of, the folksy "Crossing Jordan," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" seduces your ear and your soul. I don't drink martinis, but if I did, when I came home from work this wonderful collection of songs would be on the stereo as I sipped and slipped into something more comfortable. Actually "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" IS what I've been putting on as I soon as I get home, the only difference is I drink Evian instead of martinis and put on an football jersey and baggy shorts instead of a negligee. (Okay...probably a little TMI there, I apologize!)

For me everything begins with track 6 (the lilting percussion number "Mondo Bongo.") Everything up to and including 5 is okay enough, but really...how many times can you hear "Tainted Love" and not get tired of it; it appears on so many compilations.

Just when "Mondo Bongo" promises to have you feeling the way you do after a good massage, "Lay Lady Lay" comes along and wows you with its duet featuring the gorgeously vocal Gemma Hayes and Magnet (the latter of whom I confess I've never heard of until now.) This version of "Lay Lady Lay" is officially now my favorite; it's the song version of a gentle and pleasing back scratcher.

"I'll Melt With You" and "Nobody Does It Better" continue to take you to your most zen moment, both covers (in my very humble opinion) far surpassing the originals (then again I'm not a big Carly Simon fan.) "Let's Never Stop Falling in Love" and "Assassin's Tango" are for those of you who can never quite control the urge to sashay and twirl across the living room (well, maybe you don't live alone like I do where you can break out into song and dance whenever you want.)

The rest of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" is decent enough but tracks 6-11 pull your soul strings the most. It doesn't hurt that the album ends on such a fun, nostalgic note with the wacky and wonderful "Love Will Keep Us Together," a ditty that never fails to take me back to 1975 and the first grade!

5.0 out of 5 stars Document a relationship..., July 6, 2005

as a soundtrack. If you've seen the movie, you'll buy the soundtrack. If you've been in a relationship, you'll buy it too. It's sensual, steamy, emotion-evoking, funky, rock edgeiness, nerdiness, and feel goodness to it, kind of like a relationship with your significant other. And, "You are my sunshine"...gotta love that one too.

4.0 out of 5 stars WORTH IT!, May 18, 2006
This review is from: Mr & Mrs Smith (Audio CD)
This CD is worth the money for track 6 alone, Mondo Bongo's Alone. Everytime I hear it, I see Brad and Angelina fighting and then making up. It is the song for lovers who have lost their way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic and fun..., March 13, 2006
This review is from: Mr & Mrs Smith (Audio CD)
This made a wonderfull valentines gift for my Girlfriend and also nice romantic and fun background music. She has since put it on her mp3 player (of course) and she ejoys all the songs. Mr. and Mrs. Smith was enjoyable both as a movie, (because it was a chickflick I could make it through) and as a songtrack (Because the music is wonderfull!) Good buy, oh and good music to slow dance or heck, tango to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mondo Bongo, June 24, 2005
This review is from: Mr & Mrs Smith (Audio CD)
First of all, great soundtrack, its like one of my playlists. And for Mondo Bongo- try Joe Strummer and the Mescaleroes "Global A Go-Go" And for good music, just buy all the albums (Rock Art & the X-Ray Style, Global A Go-Go, Streetcore)- all are money well spent and the songs have the same vibe as Mondo Bongo. It's nice to see his music used in another film (the first Mescaloreos song that I know of was an edit of Minstrel Boy used at the end of Black Hawk Down).
