5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the Oscar Brown Jnrs Live and great September 12, 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
The only live recording I know of and the best of the Oscar Browns I've collected on LP over the years. That man doesn't know how to write a bad song, or how not to swing. Quite my favorite entertainer. Muffled Drums is of it's time but not dated. Great it's now in the CD world. LPS don't really take 30 years of regular playing. It's a joy to find it hasn't been forgotten

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Greatest Live Performances Ever! March 15, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I was listening to this in my car today. I have seen Oscar many times in person. He passed away a few years ago in Chicago. Oscar Brown quite simply was the living and breathing history of black Chicago. This CD is incredible. Makes you feel just like you are in the club listening and seeing Oscar perform. Seeing Oscar do his thing was an incredible experience and this set gives you a great idea of what an exciting in person performer he was. The musicians are tight and the recording is phenomanal!! Phil Upchurch is on guitar and Floyd Morris, Oscars longtime friend is on piano and doing the arrangements. Check it out and enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars style is rich, intense, down, real, and beautiful March 19, 1999
Format:Audio CD
Although the Album is very rich, I'm looking for "Ladies Man"----that piece is real from generation to generation....
