Making PLAY Accessible

Build experience with alternative ways to play.

Level 3 Social Play

Encourage turn-taking and playing together.

Hasbro’s Fundamental Mission

Hasbro’s fundamental mission is to bring joy and play to children and their families around the world. But for some children, play can be challenging. For children with a developmental disability, play isn’t always accessible out of the box, relegating countless toys to the back of the closet or the donation bin. But more importantly, the joy and benefits that play can bring, and the connection between peers, siblings and other generations, may be lost.

A passionate group of Hasbro employees from across the company, believing we could do more, came together to team up with The Autism Project—a long-term philanthropic partner of the Hasbro Children’s Fund—to figure out a way to help. The team learned that teachers and occupational therapists often create their own supportive play tools out of Hasbro toys, which can help provide critical structure for the way that children manipulate concepts to understand play.

Hasbro ToyBox Tools was created to provide that structure through a series of tools, rooted in evidence-based and emerging best practices. The instructional videos, printable materials, and playmats are designed to help families, caregivers, and teachers unlock the power of play and to make playtime more fun and enjoyable at a child’s own pace. ToyBox Tools recognizes that parents and caregivers know their children best and encourages them to use their judgment in selecting the product and level appropriate for their child.

These spuds pack tons of creative play into one little potato for your tater tot.

I thought the Mrs. Potato Head I was buying had the accessories like the picture-glasses, earrings, hat & flower but it didn't. Scroll through to see the side of the box or read the description and you will see what you are actually getting. Product quality is fine, I just would have preferred the other one.

I told my students all about this toy, and how it had little green glasses and yellow earrings. This toy does not contain those items, or the hat and daisy. Disappointing..please change the image.

The pieces don't fit we'll, the plastic door falls off if you touch it, the hair doesn't stay on, etc. it's going back to the store as a bad buy. Piece of junk.

UPDATED 12/23/13

The toy itself is very cute and will go together well with Mr. Potato head. This is the new version with feets/shoes and legs/pants attached which the potato rests on. The potato doesn't fall over so easily, which I prefer over the original ones with just a pair of feet.

She comes with a pink nose, pink tongue, pink purse, 2 pink ears with earring studs painted on, 1 pair of reddish-pink legs with shoes, 1 pair of eyes with blue lashes, 1 mouth with lips and teeth, 1 blond hairdo, 2 white arms and 1 potato body. So a total of 12 parts. Mr. Potato comes with 13.

I didn't open the box because I ordered this by mistake and I'm not sure if I want to keep it. Not crazy about all the pink and the purse seems a bit useless. If she comes with 2 different hairdos or 2 different mouth it might be more worth it. In comparison to Mr. Potato there really isn't much your kid can do to create silly faces unless you buy both Mr. and Mrs.

I grew up with potato head and wanted to order my daughter one. It does seem this one; the Mrs. is a bit smaller than the one I am used to. For that I am deducting a star. However, it is very well received! My daughter loves playing with it! I love that you can place the parts in the back, it opens up. You can also clean the parts without fear of rusting which is nice as well. I love this toy and so does my daughter.

Mr Potato Head and Mrs Potato Head are very good items to purchase my son was able to learn the body parts using these toy items. I purchase both mister and missus Potato Head so I do pretend play with him so he's able to say mommy and daddy so that worked fine with me the only thing I would say having the girl Mrs Potato Head was hard for him since he's used to putting on a hat on the head and this was a wig so he was confused but otherwise it's a good product I do recommend it
