Mr. Potato Head: Santa Spud Claus

Hat and beard appear to be constructed of a harder plastic material than the eyes, nose, ears, shoes, and arms. The sturdy hat, especially, should easily stand up to the inherent destructiveness of three-year-olds. It might not fare as well in the grips of a strong-jawed pooch.
A real beard made of synthetic hair would have been a nice touch and softened Santa Spud's image.

This is a great Potato Head for a collector. There's not a whole lot of play value for kids because of the paucity of pieces. Children who like to pretend and assume characters will get more enjoyment out of Santa Spud. At our learning center, the staff and students welcomed Santa Spud enthusiastically, even the high-schoolers.

Even for non-collectors, the Santa Spud is a great holiday decoration and conversation piece. We own several smaller Santa Spuds that hang on the Christmas tree.

Final note: Parents should monitor toddlers when they are playing with Potato Head. The ears and nose are mouth size, and the nose especially looks like it could be a choking hazard. On the [...] site, the regular Mr. Potato Head gets a medium safety rating because of the chlorine/PVC content of the nose and teeth. Zero amounts of lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, bromine, and tin were detected in any of the Potato Head parts.

I bought this as a gift for my youngest nephew who is just two. I don't think you can go wrong with Mr Potato Head. Great potential for imaginative and creative play for children of all ages. Light enough to post to the UK and doesn't cost the earth. The fact that it is a Santa is just the icing on the cake at christmas
