4.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Satisfaction, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
Mr. Satisfaction by Brenda Jackson, Delilah Dawson, Joy King and Maryann Reid is a series of four novellas that focus on several sensual beings.

The first novella's, Extreme Satisfaction, opening line "I need a man," sets the tone for this book. Cathleen McAlister is out to get her man back. Rory Dawkins is the one who got away, which causes Cathleen to spend her every waking moment trying to convince him that they belong together. Extreme Satisfaction lives up to its name as Cathleen and Rory's story unfolds.

Satisfy Me is a tale about the once wealthy Shauna Williams who is an ambitions single female coordinating her best friend wedding. Shauna discovers that her childhood love Max Jackson, the poor kid from the wrong side of the tracks, is back and no longer poor. Although Shauna has unresolved feelings for him, her financial status has her wondering if she should act on them. Meanwhile, Max is saddened to discover Shauna meager living conditions and feels responsible for her fall from wealth.

Ice Princess a tale of the cold, focused and driven industry professional with a twist. The twist is the cold driven professional is a woman! Madison Monroe handles her business associates like fine tuned automobiles. She calls the shot in the boardroom as well as in the bedroom. Enter Madison's world and see what it is like to be a woman with the typical traits of a man.

The Morning After helps to reinforce the old adage Money can't buy happiness. Alexis is a wealthy debutante type who has the best of everything except relationships. Alexis is convinced by her friend that in order to find true happiness, she should look for a blue collar man and not the silver spoon type she's used to. Low and behold, Alexis meets and is attracted to Rasheen, a hard worker with a criminal record and lots of baby mama drama!

The back of this book identifies that these are four hot stories and I could not agree more. Each story provides its fair share of heat, while I found that Mr. Satisfaction provided fire. The authors have collectively penned novels that will possibly require you to have your own "personal summer." The stories were well written and delightfully entertaining. I am usually one who finds that novellas are too short to be good, but these ladies have provided a detailed, sensual and entertaining collection of short stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous!!! (New York City), January 5, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
Mr. Satisfaction is a fabulous book. It is a turn pager from beginning to end. For all you single women out there, dim your lights, light a candle and snuggle under your satin sheets for a hot read. Ice Princess is especially an excellent late night read. It was visually descriptive from the designer clothing to the curves on Ms. Monroe. I was hoping that Maurice with his fine body would walk into my bed. For all you women with a man/husband, read this book before your man/husband comes home and you will be instantly ready for him...fabulous!!! (New York City)

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling!!, May 21, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
This was my first time reading anything by any of these authors and boy was I impressed. Each story held it's own. It was equivalent to going to a buffet and selecting whatever you had a taste for. Each story is unique and all the authors are very talented. A must read.

3.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - Sensual Satisfaction, February 13, 2006

This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
MR. SATISFACTION features four steaming novellas of women setting out to capture the men of their desires, whom they believe can provide them sexual and emotional satisfaction, whether for the short term or the long haul.

Cathleen, the protagonist in Extreme Satisfaction by Brenda Jackson, is a financial adviser who lost the love of her life, Rory, while building her business. She is a workaholic who believed that a successful career and love didn't blend and when Rory got too close for comfort, she called the relationship off. A year later, Cat has changed her mind and she wants him back. What she doesn't bank on is Rory wanting exactly what she wanted one year ago.

At the age of seventeen Shauna had a serious crush on Max, her father's teenage gardener. Because of her father's disdain for dating the help, their potential relationship never began. Max is back in town for the wedding of a mutual friend and the secrets, lies and yearnings begin again. As Shauna sets her plan in motion to win Max and ask for his forgiveness, she is unaware of what really occurred with Max and her father several years ago in Satisfy Me by Delilah Dawson.

Ice Princess by Joy King highlights Madison, a successful businesswoman who is accustomed to having any man she wants. Madison uses her body to broker deals and basically to satisfy her sexual needs. When she purchases an upscale loft and is introduced to the building's owner, Maurice, she sets her sights on adding him to her stable but is tested with her own game.

Alexis, a spoiled rich girl in The Morning After by Maryann Reid, becomes bored with the men she meets through her social circle. When her girlfriend baits her into seeing men outside her comfort zone, never in her wildest dreams would she believe she could be satisfied with a man with baggage and drama. As her faith is put to the test Alexis throws caution to the wind and takes a walk on the wild side.

The four stories within MR. SATISFACTION are very different from each other yet they each blend romance with a tinge of erotica. Some of the sexual scenes are downright lethal, but each story has its own unique style. The authors added a touch of complexity to their story, which made for intriguing reads. Fans of romance will find that these stories do not follow the typical romance novel formula and will find at least one story that will satisfy their romantic yearnings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Satisfaction Indeed!!!!!!!!!!, February 11, 2006
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
This was a good book. The first book was about a woman that gave up the love of her life, while climbing the ladder of success, now she wants him back. The second book was about a woman that had everything as a child except the guy she wanted. Her father didn't feel as if the guy was good enough for her, now five years later he's on top and she's at the bottom, will the attraction they feel for each other be enough to overcome the past. The thrid book was very good. Joy King's book was off the hook. It's about a woman that has never taken love or relationships seriously until she meets her match in a mysterious stranger. The fourth book was also very, very good. It's about a woman that has lived a sheltered life, always dating rich socialites, now she's tired of that boring life and hooks up with a true street thug, will she be able to handle the hard nose, street-wise, baby mama drama bother that can please her in bed better than any man she's been with.

2.0 out of 5 stars An unsatisfying read, December 18, 2011

This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
"Extreme Satisfaction" by Brenda Jackson is a about Cathleen, a successful woman who realizes that success is empty without someone to share her life with. A year ago, Rory proposed to her; she turned him down and ended their relationship so she could focus on her career. So she plots to reunite with the man who wanted a future with her.

I learned that lesson while watching Mahogany so I was not impressed by unimaginable sex and forced plot. The writer appeared to be uninspired and threw down so dribble so she could get a check.

"Satisfy Me" by Delilah Dawson is about Shauna a former rich girl who remained a virgin and is reunited with the man her father prevented her from pursuing because he was the gardener, the help. After 5 years, the classes have done a 180. The question is will the blooming love Shauna shared with Max blossom or will Shauna let Daddy continue to poison the soil.

The conflict between the characters wasn't worth the pages. The sex was unbelievable as in "really?" expert vibrator girl bleeds.

"Ice Princess" by Joy King is about Madison a major executive who performs sexual favors to sway businessmen to sign with her firm. She is a designer label whore who uses men sexually in an effort to fill her. She begins to crave a committed fulfilling relationship with a husband and children. She prays for a man. The next day she meets her match, Maurice, a successfully executive with a wounded heart.

The way that Maurice treated Madison before he brought her flowers didn't read "I'm in love" to me. Madison had sex with Maurice while on a date with a lover within 5 minutes. I'm all for woman being able to have sexual freedom but, Madison is just a whore bedding another man within hours of a conflict with the man of her life. And again, the sex in this tale was cliché.

"The Morning After" by Maryann Reid is about Alexis who is bred and raised with upper class expectations. After dating "white-collar" black men who leave her feeling unfulfilled, she started seeing a man, Rasheen, who is a "blue collar" man.

I guess they saved the best story for last. This story needed more pages; I think Alexis and Rasheed's story should be a novel. This story saved me from giving the book a "1" rating.

I enjoy anthologies; but, this book is a collection of mediocrity. In the second and third stories the girlfriend characters were more annoying than meaningful. The girlfriend in "Ice Princess" was an unpleasant distraction with a weak sense of values. In fact, she appeared to be a fan rather than a supporting cast.

I definitely do not recommend this book. There are certainly better anthologies to choose from. These authors have produced better novels so if that was draw to this book seek their novels.

1.0 out of 5 stars This was a horrible book, December 30, 2010
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
Honestly, I don't know what story the other reviewers read but the book I picked up had some of the worst stories I've ever read. That's including "See Spot. See Spot run. Run, Spot run." The Morning After was the only story worth anything and really I'm just picking the lesser of all the evils. Don't invest in this book. Raunchiness does not make up for a horrible storyline. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

3.0 out of 5 stars "No Satisfaction", May 5, 2007
This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
There's not much I can say about these stories except that they're boring, all but one. Brenda Jackson's Extreme Satisfaction, and Delilah Dawson's Satisfy Me were ho-hum, Joy King's Ice Princess was just plain vulgar. Now Maryann Reid's The Morning After was good. I felt the entire 304 pages should've focused on Alexis and Rasheen.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's just OK!!!, January 4, 2006

This review is from: Mr. Satisfaction (Paperback)
This book was a big disappointment for me. The stories were not that sensual.....yes the intimacy is hot but just not "sensual or romantic". This was one of those books where you see your favorite author, read the storyline and think "hmmm this sounds really good" until you actually read it
If I had to rate each story then of course Brenda Jackson's story was the best and Ice Princess could have been better...there was nothing sensual, erotic or romantic the entire story. Ms. Dawson's story should have been longer (it took me 20 minutes to read it) I would have liked to have learned more about the main character's dad and the hero's mother.

If you want to read something with some very steamy moments then you might like this book........
