5.0 out of 5 stars LGB is a must for any ska fan, May 6, 1999

This album is the best yet from LGB. The instrumentals are outrageously smooth and the horns are frantic and tight. Trust LGB to get you on your feet, and make you dance some more with this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is so darn cool!!!!, February 15, 1999

Lets Go Bowling knows how rock. This cd is just plain cool. These guys know how to create a solid groove on songs like sultans cross and spy market, and songs like hot buttered and uncomfortable sidekick just plain rock. A thing thats great about this cd too is these guys really know how to play their instruments. The basslines and solos are so orginal and inventive that this cd has a near permanent residence in my cd player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece, April 26, 2007
This review is from: Mr. Twist (Audio CD)
Skankin' Pickle is my favorite ska band. But after having this music in my cd player for so long, these guys are now up there. I have had this album for atleast a year and a half; it just never gets old. The whole album can be listened to straight through. Definately a mellow sound; not so much a party-ska feel like Reel Big Fish. This album is truely amazing, the lyrics fit perfectly in the laid-back sound. It is ska with soul; the horns give it a jazzy feel too, great for dancing. Please pick this album up, I guarantee that any ska, jazz, or mellow listener will love this band. Now LGB!!

I picked up this CD on a whim, without knowing anything about it. Turns out it's a ska album. And a very good ska album, at that. Very well played and entertaining, if you like ska. Over half the tracks here are instrumentals. There is an unlisted bonus track, which is about half-a-minute of what sounds like the band just thrashing away at their instruments. Ska fans should enjoy this album.
