Book Description

Five Star Expressions September 1999
2000 Bookseller's Best Award Finalist!

MR. WRONG is a short, fast-paced romantic comedy. Kat Snow, a widow, decides it's time to re-enter "the meat market," but finds herself faced with two seemingly insurmountable problems: 1) finding Mr. Right; 2) She hasn't dated in 12 years and needs a brush-up course on current dating etiquette. The trouble begins when she asks her best friend and boss, Rourke Hawthorne, a cynical divorce lawyer and a poster-boy for Mr. Wrong for help, and worse, he agrees.

From Booklist

Kat Snow is tired of being a single parent, so she decides to find a husband. True to her accountant nature, she makes a list of requirements and enlists the help of her childhood friend and boss, Rourke Hawthorne, since he is considered one of Virginia's most eligible bachelors. She wants to learn how to attract and hold a man, so they go out on dates, and soon the sparks start to fly. But Rourke becomes very possessive, and Kat isn't so sure he's the right man for her. He does meet most of her requirements for a perfect husband, but she thinks he's too autocratic and she still has self-esteem problems stemming from her first marriage. With help and hindrance from a cast of supporting characters, the couple work out their differences through a series of funny dilemmas. Even though the story line is as common as can be, Campbell's snappy dialogue keeps this romance moving right along. Patty Engelmann

5.0 out of 5 stars Humorous Yet Insightful Fiction, January 9, 2011

This review is from: Mr. Wrong (Five Star Expressions) (Hardcover)
This book was a very funny look at issues facing today's divorced single woman. After years of connubial nightmares, how does a woman re-enter the dating market without looking like a side of beef? Also, who can help keep her from stepping on landmines? A friend, of course, a male friend. What happens when the friend is morphing into the perfect man in front of her face, even though she's too stubborn to admit it? Added to that, the man is a divorce lawyer and jaded about marriage, stubborn and a bit egotistical. It's a perfect set-up for laugh-out-loud fun!
