This is absolutely one of the best books that I have read on the subject of Household Witchcraft and Magick in general. Bradley doesn't bog us down with the basics as a 101 Primer might but rather jumps right into it with lots of incredibly easy and practical spells and recipes. She's engaging and real throughout and the book is chock full of information including:

~Simple rituals for the solitary practitioner or the whole family
~Ways to get children involved
~Spells for cleansing and protection
~Use of various herbs
~A great list of domestic deities

She shows us that almost everything that we need to effectively bring harmony and balance into our homes, are for the most part already here. No need to go out and buy expensive tools or ingredients...a simple wooden spoon from ones drawer and the spices in your cupboard are the place to start. And doesn't it intuitively make sense anyway...to use things that are already an integral part of your home to bring about the desired effect within your space?

For me though, the best part of this whole book was the message that Magick doesn't have to be all or nothing. As someone who doesn't necessarily define myself as Pagan, but obviously has some very strong Pagan tendencies...I've been hoping and trying for years to find a way to work more spirituality, more thankfulness, more environmental awareness and more Magick into my everyday life. After reading this book I feel empowered to do just that...no prerequisites, no fancy tools required, and most importantly no huge time commitment needed. It all starts with me and my intentions. I think that is a lesson that we all need to be reminded of periodically.

I highly recommend this book for anyone following a Pagan path, especially Kitchen/Domestic Witches, Wiccans, and other's with children. However it is not a 101 book and some prior basic knowledge is needed. I found everything in it to be useful and not just the same old boring stuff that usually gets regurgitated in these guides to household Witchcraft. The two sections I found most useful were chapter 3 "Domestic Deities and Household Guardian Spirits" and chapter 6 "Simple Sabbats for the Busy Witch". In chapter 3 she discusses different deities, spirits, and entities that have been associated with the household and offers ways to honor them. In chapter 6 she offers quick and easy ways to observe the Sabbats by yourself as well as with a group or with your children. Another great thing about the book is that it can be used by someone on a budget, all the materials listed for the various ideas and projects and fairly inexpensive and easy to find.I can't say how much I love this book!

I've known Mrs. B. for some time through her blog, Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom. If this book contains even a fraction of the hard work, wisdom and sincerity that she's poured into her blog it will be well worth the (very low!) price. There's no doubt in my mind that Household Witchery will go down in history next to Uncle Bucky's Big Blue Book and any one of Cunningham's Encyclopedias. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy now before they're all gone!

I've been a practicing Wiccan for 25 years, and I've read a lot of books on the subject. Mrs. B has managed to discuss magic in a way that is relatable to Pagans of all styles and levels of experience. It's also clear that she is sharing her life and experiences with the reader, and not just sitting down to write some spells for a book. It is this wonderful and rare mix that makes this book such a stand out from other books of similar subjects. This is a must read!

Mrs. B has created such an incredible reference book for kitchen witches of any level! Aside from helpful tips on adding magic to mundane tasks, Mrs. B gives expansive lists of correlations (e.g., which herbs can be used to honor which deity). I thoroughly enjoyed her down-to-earth style, and I know I'll be coming back to this book for the wonderful lists as well as the many recipes!

Nothing new unless you're a beginner but I liked her writing style. I did like how she takes you through your home room by room... interesting & enjoyable. I would recommend to someone learning about energy & sacred space. We're moving soon so it was a nice refresher for me.

Echoing previous reviews, This book does require a bit of knowledge about Wicca and the basics of Spellcasting. But, it is also a fun and informative guide to using what you already have to cast and create magic. Would recommed to the practicing witch who also needs to establish her pantry with regular homecooked dinners in mind and busy schedules.
