This accurate and objective biography is now offered to the public in a beautiful deluxe edition. Hugh A. Studdert Kennedy was a staff member of the Christian Science Monitor until 1920, and formerly served as a minister of the Church of England before coming to the United States. The book is rich in historical background with a fresh, colorful portrayal of the times and the early growth of the Christian Science movement.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The objective appraisal of Mary B. Eddy...This may not be the last biography of Mrs. Eddy, but it will always remain the definitive one, because it establishes who, and what Mrs. Eddy was and why Christian Science today wields such a potent influence. -- The Chicago Tribune, August 3, 1947

4.0 out of 5 stars H. A. Studdert Kennedy's, "Mrs. Eddy", July 30, 2010

It's not sophisticated like Robert Peel's trilogy, or like Gillian Gill's one-volume high-quality biography. But, it has personal information on the people involved in the way Sybil Wilbur included in her book. Very worthwhile read.
