You may read reviews stating that the fragrance is too strong, NEGATIVE!!! It is very soothing and invigorating. I myself do not like overpowering fragrances...I do laundry in a frangrance free detergent and wish I could use this products laundry a HE detergent but I have an HE washer (so hope they come out with that soon). My husband who uses frangrance free everything, actually likes it and was the one to suggest I buy it and try it. I recommend the all purpose cleaner as well and for the price, despite of what others may say, it is a good deal - 1 bottle lasts me a bit over 3mths and I am a stay at home mom, with a 9mth old so I do plenty of dishes without help of dishwasher and am always aware of prices and effectiveness of a product. I LOVE IT!!!

I really wish I had read the reviews about the scent that will not wash off plates, glasses, bottles, etc. I have used Mrs. Meyers products before and am so disappointed that I'm returning my shipment. I used this dishwashing liquid to wash my sports bottle. I filled up my sports bottle and hours later took a sip and it tasted just like the "basil" scent. You might think I didn't wash it off entirely and so did I, so I soaked the bottle in boiling hot water twice and it still smells of this product.

I try to get a different product every time I need a refill in order to get a variety in my life, however this product is so great I will be sticking with this! The scent is AMAZING, I've only tried honeysuckle but I did do a smell test of the different varieties at the store and found this to be Mrs. Meyer's best scent. Also, the smell is not too strong for those of you who get headaches (like myself) from strong perfumes, so this is a safe bet. I also give this product 5 stars because it is a natural product! Highly recommend!

I have previously used Mrs. Meyers Lavender dish soap, and I liked it.

The Basil soap, however, is a huge disappointment. Even after rinsing four times, the perfume-y smell and taste(!) lingers on dishes. It imparts this flavor into your coffee, sautés, or whatever else is unfortunate enough to come into contact with what you've just washed. After this morning's episode with horrible tasting coffee, I cannot even bear to have the smell of this soap on my hands.

This is one of those products that I just can't do without! It smells so heavenly that I don't mind doing dishes. It smells of roses and geraniums. I am extremely sensitive to scents as I have allergies but although this scent is 'obvious' (I dont want to say anything too strong to deter someone from trying it) I have absolutely no problems with it - as does the rest of my family. My 5yr old also has allergies and when I clean the counters with this scent, he'll 'sniff' the table :-) and sigh.

As an added bonus, it cuts grease wonderfully but the BIGGEST benefit in my opinion is that it MUST have that special vegetable ingredient like in her Counter Top Spray that cuts odors (try cooking something stinky in your microwave or spilling tuna water from the can on your counter...use her Geranium Counter spray, wipe it down and sniff it out...nothing but heavenly geraniums to please your sniffer.) I SWEAR, I have an extremely sensitive sniffer and can't keep 'smelly' items in my garbage can in the kitchen even for a little bit, I have to take them to the outside trash (tuna cans, overly ripe veggies, etc). With one teeny drop in a tuna can, swirled around with some water - no scrubbing on my part, it cuts the odor so well that I can toss it in the trash and not think of it again. I can wash a cookie sheet of fish sticks with no odor and so many others. Did I say that I can't be without this product?? :-)

I just wish that Amazon sold a package of her various products or in single bottles...I can't very well keep 30 bottles of several of her items in my home...that would be insane.

Let me start by saying that I really love the unconventional scent of this product. In a world of utterly predictable soap smells, like lavender, cotton, vanilla, etc., it was nice to find something that wasn't boring. Unfortunately, this soap is a bit too potent for me. I washed and rinsed my dishes as I had always done before, setting them out to dry in a dish rack. Everything was going great until I started using the pots and pans I had washed using this soap. I noticed that as the pans were heated they began to exude the smell of honeysuckle! While its not a bad smell on any account, I simply do not want my food to taste like honeysuckle! Maybe I have a strong sense of smell, but this stuff just ruined a lot of my cooking with its overpowering scent! Eventually, I diluted the soap down with water, which helped me get through the two bottles I had ordered, but I probably wouldn't go back to this brand in the future!

I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Meyer's products. The Honeysuckle scent is great: clean, soft, and slightly sweet. Not intense whatsoever. The product itself does a great job at tackling the dishes and not a lot is needed to wash a sink full. All Mrs. Meyer's products are cruelty-free and eco-conscious...a definite plus! Not to mention the packaging is lovely. Try it out and I'm sure you won't be sorry!

After trying the Lavender fabric softner (not the laundry soap which got so/so reviews) and the Baby Blossom stain remover, I enthusiastically purchased a case of this soap using Subscribe and Save. I recieved the shipment a few days later and tried it immediately.

Gross.

The dish soap is thick and has a strong floral scent - nothing like fresh basil. It leaves a film on your hands and plastic dishes and cutting boards, creating a film and sudsy effect I could not wash off no matter how hard I tried. The smell of the soap on my hands was unbearable - getting on food stuff even after I had rinsed several times. The soap is thick and truly should not be used near food or on anything you eat off of unless you want to lick off soap.

I will go back to Shaklee liquid dish soap. It is way more expensive and you have to pay for shipping - but is is the cleanest, purest, non-scented and most effective soap I have ever used. In this case, you do get what you pay for.

This is the worst dish soap I've ever used. Soap has a very strong smell, like cheap perfume. Strong smell doesn't go away no matter how many times I try to rinse with water. I washed my baby bottles with this soap and now my baby won't take the bottle. Tried washing bottles with different soap but still, smell won't go away. Tried other ways to get rid of smell but nothing has worked so far. It smells toxic. It's overwhelming and nauseating.

This dish soap cleans well, stays sudsy for a long time, and smells divine. And don't forget: It wasn't tested on animals...
