Muddled and disappointing,
By Scopo Philiac (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mrs.P's Journey (Paperback)
The story of the remarkable woman who came up with the London A-Z map is well worth telling. From a traumatic upbringing, Phyllis Pearsall became a one-woman cartographic dynamo who worked tirelessly well into her 80s.
Unfortunately, this book is muddled, amatuerish and disappointing, reading more like a self-published book than one from a respectable mainstream publisher. The structure is all over the place and the copyediting woeful. |
