More About the Author
Upon his return to Florida, Gaskins gravitated to the street life, which led to a wakeup call one evening when a local gang robbed him. Realizing how easily his life could have been taken away instead of his possessions, Gaskins decided to transform himself to begin walking in his purpose.
Gaskins wrote and published a tell-all book, entitled, What Daddy Should have Told? This project boosted Gaskins' opportunities to teach women the secrets to dating at the age of 23. Following this, he continued to share his experiences by sharing his story of being a "grownboy" meandering from one toxic relationship to another. Lastly, Gaskins wrote "Reclaiming Our Youth" and told his story as a rebellious teenager, living the Street life and then teaching about the pitfalls that came with it.
In 2009. Gaskins was invited to the sets of The Oprah Winfrey and The Tyra Banks Shows, opportunities which catapulted him into a larger market where he could more widely share portions of his heartfelt story with the world.
Today, Gaskins is a highly sought-after life/relationship coach and motivational speaker. His clients spread over several continents and range in age from 16 to 65 years old. Gaskins admits that the wisdom and favor is all from the grace of God and none of his own. In his own eyes, he is just a humble servant, teaching not from a college degree or textbooks, but from real life experience and God-given wisdom.

A big thank you to Tony for going through his wilderness experience with an open mind, an ear to hear, and eyes to see the purpose God was calling him into. Also a very big thank you to the jewel he has by his side for allowing him to share his wisdom with the rest of the world!
Not only did Tony tackle the baggage issue that many women face, but he also opened my eyes to the GROWN BOY that I almost allowed back into my life. This book was my confirmation that it was time to let go and release him from my life for good. As women, we often think that if we just "love him a little harder" or change, that it will prompt a man to do the same. A MAN, perhaps, but a GROWN BOY? Certainly not. A grown boy isn't mature enough to take responsibility for his actions and be willing to change. Instead, they flip the script and blame you.
I cannot say "Thank you" enough for this book. Ladies, believe me, it is worth every dollar you have in your pocket, to buy this book and read it. It is my prayer that it reaches your heart and helps you realize that despite your past, and who may have hurt you, you are still somebody's Mrs. Right. Love, respect and appreciate yourselves FIRST. The man God has for you, will follow suit.

I was not disappointed. Some self-help 'gurus' can churn out advice that seems counterintuitive and disingenuous. Mr. Gaskins keeps it straightforward and true in this work.
I found some of his views quite fascinating. I'm the product of a strong, two-parent home with a very loving father - so I know the definition of a strong man. Mr. Gaskins added to the already strong foundation I have with a bit of a modern twist.
I was especially intrigued by his concept of "positioning" - something I had never given much thought to.
If you're looking for a good read into relationships without compromising your femininity, I'd urge you to purchase this book. You don't need to think like a man. You need to think like the woman God made you!
