This book was wonderful for teaching a lesson on patterning. M&M's make for a great manipulative to pair with the book. The book did get into more complex patterning and number sense but I found that I only used the section that applied to my students.

We planned to initially use the book to reinforce what my daughter was learning in class about patterns. However, we were able to use it to challenge her to do some multiplication. It worked! It really sparked some ideas on how we will introduce more complex math concepts in the future.
