Book Description

"Fresh, charming, and addictively readable, Shanna Swendson delivers again."
- Rachel Aaron, author of The Legend of Eli Monpress

At last, the much anticipated fifth book in the Enchanted, Inc. series!

To Do: Manage Magical Mayhem

Katie Chandler is back in New York and just in time to help Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. with the latest crisis. A magical crime wave is sweeping the city and wizarding whiz Owen Palmer thinks the chaos-causing spells look awfully familiar -- like something his arch-rival Phelan Idris would create.

When Idris's rogue firm Spellworks starts selling amulets to protect against these spells, Owen's suspicions are confirmed. While Owen and the other wizards scramble to unravel the wicked spells, it's Katie's job as the new director of marketing for MSI to fight the battle of public perception.

When Katie stages a showcase for MSI's magical achievements, she doesn't realize she's playing right into a devious plot more than three decades in the making. To save the magical world, she'll have to prove who the real enemy is by digging deeper into Owen's mysterious past. If she fails, she not only stands to lose a magical war, but she could also lose the man she loves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to the series August 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
First of all, if you haven't read the rest of the series, purchase all those too and read them. I have had several people read this series, and everyone has loved it. Start with book 1 - Enchanted Inc. - trust me. This is the only book review I've ever written. I love this series that much.

After waiting for what seems like forever, we finally have our paws on book 5, and what a book it is. The book starts off where Don't Hex with Texas leaves off. The plot follows some big twists that I did not see coming. It had me on the edge of my seat for a few scenes. I also had tears in my eyes for a couple of other scenes.

Shanna has a great writing style that is easy to read. There was so much to love about this book: tons of Katie and Owen scenes, witty comedy, crazy plot twists, and even some romance. I can't say enough how much I love this series. I can't wait for book 6.

Don't wait, get this book NOW. Unless you haven't read the ones before - then get all of them. Enchanted Inc., Once Upon Stilettos, Damsel Under Stress, Don't Hex with Texas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic & worth waiting for! My new series favorite! August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
From Author's website:
To Do: Manage Magical Mayhem, Save the Company, Save the World
Katie Chandler is back in New York and at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. - and just in time. The city's in the grip of a magical crime wave from spells that wizarding whiz Owen Palmer thinks look awfully familiar, and the rogue firm Spellworks is raising its profile in the magical world by selling protective amulets. It's Katie's job as the new director of marketing for MSI to fight this battle of public perception while Owen and the other wizards try to uncover what's really going on.
What Katie doesn't realize is that her idea to stage a showcase for MSI's magical achievements is playing right into a devious plot more than three decades in the making. Now Katie has to do damage control that has nothing to do with marketing. To save the magical world, she'll have to prove who the real enemy is, and doing that will require digging deeper into Owen's mysterious past than he wants anyone to go. If she fails, she not only stands to lose a magical war, but she could also lose the man she loves.
The Bad:
I gotta be honest folks, I don't have anything that can be categorized as "The Bad" here, except perhaps that I had to wait too long to read it and I wish it were not over so quickly.
The Good:
Much Ado was well worth the wait. The story was action-packed, intense and thoroughly enjoyable. If you had asked me two weeks ago which of the Enchanted, Inc books was my favorite, I would have gone back and forth between the books because I love them all in their own ways. Now, Much Ado About Magic is the clear winner. Not only do we get some long due answers about our cutie Owen, but the story arc with Idris comes to a head, ending with a shock!

5.0 out of 5 stars A tough act to follow August 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was nothing like I expected -- in a good way. I can't go into specifics without spoilers, but I would strongly recommend the entire series to anyone who enjoys a good read. This may be my favorite book in the series so far, packed with emotion. Make sure you have a few hours to read, as this definitely falls into the "hard to put down" category.

I can't wait to see where the series heads for book 6, as this book will be a tough act to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars So happy to have more Katie and Owen! September 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Enchanted, Inc. series is one of my all-time favorites. I love its mash-up of chick lit, romance, fantasy, and mystery, and I adore Katie Chandler, who's smart, strong, and all too human. I was so excited to see a fifth book, and I got excited all over again when I got to the end of my Kindle version and saw that there will be a sixth book in October 2012. I love Shanna Swendson's writing; it's bright, fun, funny, literate, and most of all, it sucks me right into the world of Katie and MSI. This outing tackled a few more serious issues in finding out who Owen really is, but I thought the mystery was well-done. I pretty much suspected every one of the new characters at one point or another as a villain of some sort.

The only thing I was left wishing for at the end was a little more heat between Katie and Owen (not erotic-type heat, just a little more fade-to-black good old-fashioned snugglin' and lovin' like you see in old movies. I read this series precisely because it's not smutty--that's one of the things I love so much about it). There was so much going on, their love story was out of necessity put a bit on the back burner in this book, although I do think their relationship deepened. But I'm hopeful it'll be back in the spotlight in the sixth book.

Thanks for giving us more Enchanted, Inc., Shanna. I'll be here for as many installments as you're willing to write!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent addition to an Enchanting series! August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
FINALLY! The fifth installment in the "Enchanted, Inc." series has arrived! Funny, frothy fantasy splashed with workplace humor and a sweet love story, "Much Ado about Magic" is a delight. The whole series is perfect summer reading, from the clever premise to the winning, relatable heroine. Among the book's many strengths is the central romance between normal-girl Katie and wizard prodigy Owen. Their relationship is not only realistic and charming, but it also serves as a great reminder that courage, common sense, and the ability to see things as they truly are are more powerful forces than any magic.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this and all of the other titles in this series!
