This shoulder rest has a brilliant design which allows it to be used on any size violin. That's why I bought it for my new electric violin which has a odd sized bout. The pad is always just where you need it. Sturdy little thing. In reference to another reviewer, a shoulder rest is not actually made to be "comfortable" in the sense of being very well padded. Some violinists rest the bare violin on their shoulder. A shoulder rest provides a comfortable height for the chin to rest at and allows the back of the violin to resonate more. Nice product. I've used Kun and Resonans but I like this one the best.

I've been looking for the perfect chin rest for months now. I purchased four others at the same time or prior to this one. Some just plain didn't fit me good, while others didn't work well in spite of fitting me. I wanted one that helped prevent slipping off my shoulders, as my neck has arthritis and doesn't hold down like it once did. This shoulder rest is not only comfortable, but the rubber actually grips clothes pretty good. It is adjustable enough to fit any fiddle, something not all were as good at. It is small enough to cram into my rather cramped hard-shell case as well, which is a good plus. I'm happy with this one, and my search is now officially over.
