5.0 out of 5 stars The best blues to be had!, August 21, 1999

First of all , Paul Rodgers is the best male vocalist period. On top of that you add Jeff Beck, David Gilmore, Slash, Gary Moore, Brian Setzer, Steve Miller and a few other unbelieveable guitar wizzards, you can't possibly get a better blues alblum. And lest we forget they're playing the songs of Muddy Waters! Don't waste any more time thinking, this is a "10".Paul Shaffer is also there on the B-3.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the great vocalists of our time, October 31, 2001

I have owned this cd for some time and have never tired of
listening to it.Mr Rodgers is in fine form throughout and his backing band just rocks.Add to that some of the finest rock guitarists in the world today showing their blues roots and you have a winning tribute to one of the blues greats. My fav track would have to be"born under a bad sign" with Neal Schon.I play in a band myself and have often played this cd between sets and have never failed to get someone come up and say "this is fantastic....who is this band?"...and yet another person is introduced to the blues, what more could you want?

5.0 out of 5 stars Vocal and guitar virtuoso, July 3, 1998
This review is from: Muddy Water Blues (Audio CD)
First, let me confess I have the American version and I just can't quit listening. The various guitarists perform inspired blues work and, when accompanied by Rodger's excellent vocals...well, it's just a MUST HAVE for any blues man. Steve Miller's rendition on Hoochie Coochie Man is unique! What an innovater! David Gilmore's crying guitar work in Standing Around Crying will leave you drained and Rodger's vocal work here is equally inspiring. Gary Moore will really move you as he thunders through his rendition of She Moves Me. Rodger's anquished voice is most convincing. Jeff Beck makes 3 appearances topped by his soulful I Just Want To Make Love To You. I could go on about the other guitarists but I'll just guarantee if you're a blues fan you'll thank me for convincing you.
