5.0 out of 5 stars Shut up.. And bow..
First off Kud was excellent in this live footage, And all who say otherwise,Well I hope you don't sing in a band.. If you do go buy a bullet and rent a gun!! Second, I was very impressed with the groups performance, Its solid in this DVD and flawless. There was a couple views that were not that great but overall you can see the band clearly.. And they don't focus on Kud...

Second, I was very impressed with the groups performance, Its solid in this DVD and flawless. There was a couple views that were not that great but overall you can see the band clearly.. And they don't focus on Kud only.. WHICH IS A PLUS. You see thats whats great about Mudvayne they have an amazing singer & he doesn't take up all the spotlight like most singers i've seen in bands with similar amount of fan basis. If your a MuDvAyNe fan buy now and enjoy, If your a fan of the genre buy now and enjoy.. If your neither then you just wasted a small portion of your life reading this..

5.0 out of 5 stars great!, December 14, 2001
This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
(...) i couldn't wait for this dvd to come out. i knew that there would be tons of great stuff included, and mudvayne dosen't disappoint. this dvd has at least 75 minutes of live footage, the music video for death blooms, an in-depth interfiew from the band, a biography of the band, and pics. the only bad part of the dvd is the ok quality of the footage. also, where i got it, its dirt cheap. i suggest that u get this. it will definately kick your (...).

4.0 out of 5 stars fans only!, March 17, 2004
This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
as a mudvayne fan i was glad to see a mudvayne dvd. and it gets the job done. anyone who isnt a fan probably wouldnt enjoy the dvd much at all. to be honest, the audio and video quality is not very good. alot of what seems to be kud missing words, etc., is really just an oversensitive mic or something picking up the other instruments. the video quality is grainy as hell. this wouldnt be a big deal if this were an outside show during the day, but it isnt. regardless of the quality, its hard enough to see the band in the darkness with lights flashing everywhere.

the band is in pretty good shape on the dvd. i'm sure alot of people admired kuds vocals on the l.d. 50 cd but were like 'he probably cant scream like that all the time during a show'..but he can. during the show he screams like hes trying to puke up rocks over and over again but can still sing very well through out the show. the rest of the band does very well, ecspecially ryknow, who likes to jump around. gurrg, the guitarist, however, annoys me to no end. i can't stand his face during the concert. he smiles alot and looks very stupid with his red and black makeup and spiky hair. you probably wont notice, certain things just bug me. blah, blah.

overall a good buy for the average mudvayne fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a good effort, November 13, 2003
This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
This DVD is okay, but I must stress: vocal mic bleed! Chad's microphone picks up drums and all the stage sound causing some phase problems, the best sounding song on this dvd is -1 because Chad is on a truss above the stage. As a response to video quality, it is not the dvd, it is an effect the band put on video to make it grainy. If you look at the main menu, you'll notice the video is clean and clear. I honestly wish they would re-release this video without of the video effect because honestly it makes the band hard to see at some points. But all in all I like this dvd, it shows that the band is human, they do mess up(chad's voice breaking, or certain members running into eachother) but its a good show, and worth checking out:)

4.0 out of 5 stars Alright....but Mudvayne got ALOT better live, October 10, 2003

This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
I saw Mudvayne at this year's Summer Sanitarium and was a bit skeptical because I had heard some of their live stuff before (simply observe this DVD or the Ozzfest 2001 cd). Chad's voice just wasn't at it's best. But I guess he got smart and started taking care of it, and took vocal classes to make sure he wouldn't lose his voice during their shows. Boy did it ever pay off, because even for the openers (which is total bullsh--) they blew the place away. This DVD does not do them much justice. First off, the video quality is shockingly bad for DVD, and of course, Chad's vox where nowhere near as great as they normally are. Musically, I'd give it about an 8/10 because there are a few f-ckups and moments of annoying feedback but flaws aside, Mudvayne play their @$$es off here. Just be sure not to let this ruin your plans to see them live in the future. I promise you they rule. Keep heavy music alive!

4.0 out of 5 stars LD50-LIVE IN PEORIA, May 20, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
This DVD is amazing. It was interesting to see a live concert w/o all the gloss-over. Instead of covering up the live sound w/ Pro Tools, Mudvayne opted to keep the raw sound of a live show. Of course it doesn't sound as good as a carefully produced studio CD so if that bothers you don't buy this DVD. But if you have an appreciation for live music and how incredibly talented this band is, then this DVD is a great addition to your collection. I was fortunate enough to see this band last year. I really hadn't listened to them before the show but I have been a diehard fan since. The drums are flawless, the bass is stomach-wrenching, and the vocals unbelieveably powerful. The guitar work is pretty basic but it holds onto the "nu metal" sound. I highly recomend this DVD or anything else Mudvayne to current fans as well as anyone who has an appreciation for intricate and innovative music.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun DVD, but recorded at the wrong time, November 20, 2002

Mudvayne made this more than just a live DVD, but a spoof film type deal too. It is a lot of fun to watch the dumb stuff they do, but there is a slight problem with the live show. While they put a lot into the show, they recorded it well into the touring cycle, and they were worn out. Chad's voice was shot throughout the Ozzfest tour (time period when this was recorded). If you saw them before then or after it, his voice sounds SO much better. I think they could have arranged the setlist a bit better (Dig in the middle of the show??? the crowd was more or less dead after they played Dig). But still, this is a high quality and great looking DVD. If you like Mudvayne, it is a must-have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definately an L.D. you should take..., June 5, 2002
By
Metallicoholic (Cape Coral, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
Mudvayne serves up an impressive live concert in Peoria, IL and an equally impressive DVD to go along with it. The first thing I took special notice to was the sound quality, since previous reviews had said that it wasn't up to par. I must disagree. True, the lyrics are hard to understand... but go to a Mudvayne concert. It's like that. So, in a way, the sound quality creates an accurate concert experience.

This DVD has a lot of high points, including the awesome assortment of songs (though I'm upset that one of my favorites, "Everything and Nothing" was not played) and the overall impressive presence that Mudvayne brings to stage. Plus, between songs, viewers are given an insight into the lives of the heavy metal artists outside the stage. True, the footage is of the band crusing the town and getting food, but for someone like me that hasn't seen them without makeup, it was nice to see. In particular, I like the clips that show the band sitting down having a civilized conversation right before a concert clip that has Kud utter the F word about six times in the span of ten seconds. It's pretty amazing to see the transformation.

However, this DVD only got four stars for a reason. I'm not one to gripe about meaningless things, but some of the camera angles during the concert are rather annoying. On some of the far away shots, there is a light facing the camera and thus, the entire band becomes blocked. Then, there are the overhead views that just don't do the band justice, except for the one shown at the beginning during the -1 performance when Kud is standing on a platform above the drum set. There are a few more, including the one from between the amps and the one that looks like it's on the end of Ryknow's bass guitar that makes it look like a cheap B movie. It's not really anything particular, I just don't care for camera angles that don't quite help the band out.

Then, there are the lack of extra features. The best one of the ones given to us is the "Death Blooms" video that claims to be a Director's Cut, but I cannot find a difference between the one I downloaded and the one on the DVD (If anyone is more of a fan that me and can find it, please tell me). I thought the backstage/behind the scenes clips would be at the concert, but are instead shots from a moving vehicle following the band in their car as they talk about things of hardly any interest. It was just a disappointment, that's all.

After all that, there's only one question you must have on your mind: Should I buy the DVD? Yes. It's a great thing to add to your collection, especially if you have Static-X's "Where the Hell Are We..." DVD like I do. It's a tremendous concert that is very well captured. If you haven't been able to see Mudvayne live, purchase this DVD and see what you're missing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mudvayne.(L)ive (D)osage 50,in Peoria IL, October 7, 2003

This review is from: Mudvayne: Live Dosage 50 - Live in Peoria (DVD)
This DVD consists of the band playing all the songs on all L.D 50 except for Everything and Nothing(which is a good song.)I wonder why they would leave it out.Since i'm to young to go to one of their concerts I bought this DVD instead.-1 is the best performance because Chad does the vocals on top of a wobly tower over the drum set.Nothing to Gein is another amazing performance because Chad curls up in a ball and yells "soiled" on the ground.
Dig aswell because Chad manages to yell the verses 10 times
faster than he was able on the album. Also, the song severed which I did not like that much on the album was amazing live. You also get to see them without their makeup.Chad looks about a million times cooler than he does in the "world so cold" video. The guitarist looks 500 thousand times cooler than he does in the
"world so cold" video. The bassist looks 10 thousand times cooler
than he does in the world so cold video, but,Spag looks cooler
in the L.D 50 booklet than he does in this. Warning this DVD has
a huge amount of swearing. Also, you get the "Death Blooms" video.
I also would of liked the "DIG" video, but, oh well.Best performances:Dig,Prod,Nothing to gein,-1,Severed.
