While the mask certainly does provide great protection for head on collisions, I was unable to limit the side to side motion. To reiterate, the frontal protection is excellent. I feel as if I could be punched squarely in the face and feel no adverse effects from it. On the other hand, I don't think that the mask provides any side to side protection. A hit on the side of the face would lead too the same problems regardless of whether the mask is there.

Bought this for my son who broke his nose playing soccer. He position is goalie. He would not use this mask because it totally blocked his site view. Therefore I'm really unable to evaluate it's effectiveness as nose protection. Unless I'd say it was totally unusable as a broken nose protection due to the inability to see while wearing it.

I used it to play basketball and I was not able to see down below, I had to turn my entire face towards the floor in order to be able to look down. Same thing to look up, I had to turn my face all the way up.
I was not confortable playing with this mask at all!
