Great for patella problems. Better the single strap,

I have horrible knees and walk with a cane. I have about 20 knee surgeries and have tried a jillion braces. My knee cap has a tendency to slip out, usually down. I have used the normal single strap with no real luck or pain relief.
The cho-pat's extra strap makes all the difference in the world. It seems the strap above the knee cap does more to control it then the bottom one. My knee will buckle usually walking up or down hills or trying anything athletic. Now with the cho pat I can do pretty much whatever without having my knee give out. It takes a bit to get used to but once you feel the support you would allow it to have barbwire it's so good. I bought two one for sweating and one for dress. They clean easily but do hold a stank after a few uses without washing after sweating. The only drawback is that the velcro can ruin some materials of shorts or sweatpants if you wear them over the knee brace. Poly or synthetics usually not organics.

I've been dealing with moderate knee issues for about a year, and because of crappy health care coverage and the threat of being tagged with a "pre-existing condition" by my insurance company, I've been letting the condition slide without seeing a doctor. The curtailment of activity finally got to me, and I started trying various knee-bracing solutions - single strap, ace bandage, bandana under the patella - with limited success. This adjustable double-strap works really well for activities such as walking, spinning, and aerobics. The lower strap has an integrated pad that can be placed for optimum support, and the top strap serves to keep the entire contraption in place. The inside is soft and comfortable, and the brace is pretty low-profile overall, so you can wear it under jeans without it bunching up the fabric. It was definitely worth the money.

The brace helps the knee pain, but I have a hard time keeping it in place. When I make it tighter, it cuts off the circulation.

Sometimes, during a long steep descent, one or both knees can get annoyed. These straps work remarkably well in such situations; the pain goes away, and full strength and agility appear to be restored.

It did live up to my expectations and supports my knee well during weight bearing exercizes. The only thing is to pull it tighter for a more snug fit, I run out of velcro to attach the top strap to.

After exchanging up one size to Med from Small it is very comfy. I have a 13 1/2 knee when measured according to instructions, and chose a small per size chart. I will need to run with it for a few weeks to see if it does the job it claims. Thankfully Itahaca Sports, the seller, allowed me to exchange it without penalty. They did not send to address on exchange request form so, Nor send me a note the replacement was shipped. So just be cognizant of their flaws.

I have used this knee brace on my left knee for a couple of years, mainly for bike riding. It has noticeably reduced knee pain even on long distance rides of over 100 miles. I also used this brace during a Grand Canyon crossing. I have a diagnosis of patella-femoral syndrome or non-specific knee pain. My knee is not arthritic. I like to have 2 on hand so I ordered an additional one as my son took one of these with him when he went back to school. He claims it is helpful when he does squats. I rinse the surface that contacts the skin after each use. The original one is still in good shape. Given the low price, I would highly recommend trying this to provide some relief during athletic endeavors.
