Scott Mueller has done the canine world a great justice. He puts his 35 years experience into a book that can be picked up and read easily. The content is laid out in a way that will make sense to the reader. Within a weekend I have completed Mueller's Essential Guide and feel grateful that such a work was produced. It would be a shame for anyone looking to have a puppy that reaches its true potential, not know about this book. I've read many books about canines and canine behavior and none have been more informative.

Format: Paperback
This book gives common sense answers to all puppy concerns and a very unique insight into the world of puppies. Scott makes it easy to understand how to start a preschool class, what topics to focus on, proper socialization techniques and great ideas on preventing behavior problems in the first place. This in -depth manual gives a clear understanding of what puppy development means and why it is so important and how to clearly explain problem solving techniques to dog owners. This book will help keep many puppies in their homes and out of the shelter!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Theresa Clark on December 2, 2010
Format: Paperback
This book was a great motivator for me to begin my own puppy preschool within my dog training business. I will be using it for years to come as a manual to model my classes after. It was also extremely useful to me in aiding in the raising of my own puppy. It served as a needed reminder of just how important early socialization is. I recommend it for anyone who wants a better understanding of how a puppy's mind works! -Theresa Clark, Clark Canine Academy, Cincinnati, Ohio
