pulp fiction and politically incorrect social commentary, October 15, 2006
This review is from: Mugger Blood (The Destroyer) (Paperback)
The Destroyer is way better that the Executioner, who seems to spend his time chasing down mafiosi. Remo Williams and his mentor Chiun, tend to go after the Hitler of the month, such as trial lawyers, arab terrorists, and the Kennedy clan. In this book it is clearly Al Sharpton, but it was written before that fat knuckle-head was big news. That is why the Destroyer was so much fun to read prior to the Reagan era.
Thus book attacked every angle of decaying New York sociopathy from idiotic police to schools that sucked up taxpayers' money as if there was no tomorrow. Never mind that illiterate morons were being chucked out into society with nothing more than 12 years of compulsory attendance.
The plot of Murphy and Sapir's novel is pretty threadbare at best, but the fun is in the color of the story. And of course the chop sockey. Disgusting filthy people have their corrupt and worthless existences terminated with extreme prejudice saving the general public the expense of a trial. Suits me just fine, after all it's only fiction.
Some readers might find this novel to be racist, tough break. Reality sucks.
