This review is from: Muhurtha (Electional Astrology) (Paperback)
Muhurtha is Electional Astrology. Therefore this book is about the forecasting of auspicious dates for all kinds of ceremonies and beginnings. Raman provides forecasting tips, goes over indicators for events; and includes a host of other particulars needed for event planning. Some topics include: birth stars and birth moons; the special adverse yogas and their neutralization; elections concerning general matters; house building; travel; and medical elections.
As is usual with Raman's conversational approach, he discusses his cases vividly and supplies backgrounds and thoughts, which are, in part, astrological, and at other times circumstantial. Western astrologers will find consistency with many of their Electional techniques, here, but with additional considerations such as Nakshatras and auspicious days of the week. This book provides many useful tables, of which one is a nice reference chart for Nakshatra compatibility for brides and grooms. This is a very useful and classic text on Muhurtha.
