This review is from: The Muir Woods Handbook: An Insider's Guide to the Park, as Related by Ranger MIA (Paperback)
This wonderful book is a great guide to Muir Woods National Monument. The informative text is provided by Susan Frank, and the wonderful cartoons featured throughout this 144 page book are the work of her late husband, Phil Frank.

This handbook tells you everything you will need to know about planning a trip to this great little redwood forest. Fun facts & history, are mixed in well with tips on what time of day is best for viewing wildlife, and where to stay and dine in Marin County. You can find out just which trail will suit your needs, and timeframe within the park and beyond.

And with the addition of Phil's cartoons, this book is a bunch more fun than walking around and only having the park's handout as your guide. With a little imagination, this book and by reserving your lodging via the Internet. You will have all the proper tools in making a great and successful journey to this wonderful redwood grove.

I have tested this book, with a visit to the park in September of this year. The only flaw herein, is that this edition of the handbook is from 1999. And you will need to consult your computer to find out just what the 2009 prices are.

Great little guide
