I love Natalia...she can do no wrong.
V.Ramos
Natalia Lafourcaude brings a new fresh and beautiful style to Agustin Lara's songs, giving them a new dimension and a more suitable sound for a younger generation.

I highly recommend this Mujer Divina CD to those fans who haven't purchased it yet, who are still a little unsure about buying it.

I'm more a fan of Augustin Lara than Lafourcade and I think she's done a wonderful job of adapting his music to her quirky style and still showing some respect. I won't say these are updated arrangements as some of them sound very vintage. I'm just nuts for the song she does with Miguel Bose. It's also nice to hear other Latin pop stars sing with her, for better and worse.
She obvious loves the music and it makes me want to keep an open mind about her future projects.
Try and buy the version with the DVD. I think some of the music is even better on this "live" performance, especially Lila Downs singing with her on La Fujitiva.

I love Natalia...she can do no wrong. All her projects and albums are different but nevertheless, they all have the distinct Lafourcade touch. This album is no different...breezy, instrumental and just plain gorgeous. Like if you were in a meadow and a band was playing in the distance. Natural and lush...this album is a must-have!

As much as people complain because Natalia is not -and won't ever be- Agustin Lara, this is a refreshing take on Lara's work and his boleros. Let's not forget that this CD is meant to be a homage, and in that regard, Lafourcade delivers.
If you want to feel nostalgic and sentimental, I recommend anyone to play Maria Bonita (Acoustic version) and let yourselves enjoy Lara's masterpieces under a new light, one that, if not as good as the original voice, will be worthy enough of your time and money as an audiophile.

Agustin Lara is one of the Mexican greatest songwriters if not the best of all times. This album exposes few of more than 600 songs that he wrote during his prolific life, most of them very well known thorough Latin America and the world. Natalia Lafourcaude brings a new fresh and beautiful style to Agustin Lara's songs, giving them a new dimension and a more suitable sound for a younger generation.
I recommend this album to any body that appreciates quality and well produced Latin Jazz, Latino-american music (if you like Norah Johns, you will like this..)

SHE'S A WONDERFUL YOUNG SINGER. I SAW HER ON THE LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS EVENING. SHE HAS THE ABILITY
TO HOLD THE AUDIENCE IN HER HAND. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE OF HER RECORDINGS WHEN THEY BECOME
AVAILABLE. I HAVE SUNG SOME OF AGUSTIN LARA'S MUSIC. I AM DISAPPOINTED THE FACT THAT I HAVE BEEN
UNABLE TO FIND A COMPLETE ANTHOLOGY FOR VOICE AND PIANO. IN ANY CASE NATALIA LAFOURCADE IS A JOYFUL
DELIGHT.

This is a fantastic album. I've been a big fan for several years and own every one of her CD's so the I was pleased to hear her keep up the tradition of putting out quality work.

I wasn't familiar with Agustin Lara until this CD. It really made me appreciate the classics and I'm planning to get his real CD.
