"The Time-traveler's Wife" is a real treat for time travel genre lovers! Also for general public, as it is notable from this translation to Spanish. This is not a specialized collection, it is presented just as Narrative into a general Fiction heading.
It is not an easy book to read. A complicated space-time frame (similar in some aspects to the one used in "Bones of the Earth"), may dishearten some readers. Still if you persist you'll be gratified!

The story starts with what will be the general pattern of the novel. WHAT is a "first date"? WHEN is "the first time I saw her/him"?
Henry is subject to a genetic disease that makes him "jump" into time (forward or backward) without his control. Each jump is dangerous because Henry is ejected nude into whatever time-place may result. Day or night, cold or hot, desert place or crowded places he has to start running for shelter just on arrive.
In this context a love story emerges full of sentiment. Clare is always waiting for his lover to show up. Henry always fears to leave her alone.
Clare is a sensitive artist and is in touch with Henry's "jumps" since she is a little girl, yet for all her training, she will never be able to "get used" to it.

Ms. Niffenegger plays sagely with time displacement, examines many different situations and takes maximum advantage from them in a way that will leave you thinking about more than once.
Even though, the heart of the story is a love affair with all its condiments: family relationships, jealousy, fidelity, children and above all this are the mysterious bond between Clare and Henry.

Gripping and thought provoking. Time-travelers: do not let pass this trip! Sensible souls: do not miss this heartbreaking tale!

A pesar que el tiempo y en este caso su movilidad de parte de Henry, uno de los protagonistas, puede reportarle algunos beneficios, la mayoria son contratiempos y dificultades. El hecho de que sea Clare la que espera y añora el regreso del amado en una manera distinta de presentar lo que a traves de la historia se ha dado, en donde el cazador va hacia lo desconocido con tal de procurar el sustento, aqui el cazador va hacia distintas epocas para armar un rompecabezas emocional y sera la abandonada quien tendra la fortaleza de seguir adelante.
Con un lenguaje cautivante en su dualidad femenina y masculina, muy original y cuando uno se acostumbra a esto y a los cambios de fecha, te atrapa.
