4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal bizarre gift
Those people requiring a weird gift for a birthday, trailer park bridal party, etc, could do worse than giving this book a go. It's full of great pictures of fine heads, stories, and special features that give people a taste of the mullet lifestyle.

Personally I found it a bit short, however, and wouldn't buy it for *my own* collection - it's a read-once book. Buy it...

3.0 out of 5 stars A song that goes with the book
Oh man, now my life is complete. I've always wondered what Wesley Willis meant when he sang the song "cut the mullet". Okay, so this book review is a little off the topic... just wanted to share the "full-circleness" that a small percent of the population will share with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm 10-90 for life!, January 6, 2001
This review is from: The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (Hardcover)
What would life be without Mother Nature's most beutiful creation... the mullet. I don't care what you call it: the mullet, the 10-90, the Ape-Drape, the Kentucky Waterfall, the Achey-Brakey-Big-Mistakey, the Mud Flap, the Camero Hair, the Schlong, the El Camino, the Soccer Rocker, the Canadian Passport, the Hockey Hair, Business in the front-party in the back... yes sir, it is all about no front porch and a whole lotta awening in back... anyway, whatever you call this glorious phenomnon, i want to say that this book will provide you with all you need to fulfill your innermullet desires. becuase, my fellow mullet hunters, it isn't just a haircut, it's an obsession. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars It's about time........., December 21, 1999
This review is from: The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (Hardcover)
Finally someone has got it together to document the history and variations on a haircut I have become fascinated with. In my hometown (Newcastle, Australia) which I visit quite regularly - the mullet is an epidemic. I can now catergorise them as I go about my business. This book is a must for mulletlovers everywhere - even if you are not you'll find plenty of laughs in here and will probably learn to love the mullet as much as I (and the authors of this fine publication) do. Brilliant 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hugely funny "study" of the haircut and its culture, January 31, 2000
This review is from: The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (Hardcover)
What raises this book's account over that of a catalog of photos is the way in which it weaves together the haircut with its (supposed) culture. The bi-level 'do is only the most visible element of mulletdom, and the nuances of the underlying ethos are just as (if not more so) interesting.

The cartoons, recipes, and fabricated artifacts all help to flesh out the hilarious picture the authors draw. There's a lot more to the mullet than meets the eye, and the authors have captured the underpinnings with great wit and humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first love wore the Mullet!, March 3, 2001
By
FloozyFlapper1926 (Somewhere in the 20's) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (Hardcover)
Oh, what can I say about the Mullet? My first boyfriend back in 1988 wore the Mullet with pride. After reading this hilarious book, I kept laughing until tears rolled down my cheeks. I didn't know the name of it in those days. His last name was Brodeur so through the years we've always called the Mullet the "Brodeur". Now I have the true name of this hairdo and its perfect.

I thought this book was a great look at a major phenonmenon that is now spawning websites by the dozen. I was dumped for a girl with a full-on Mullet and as my Mullet ex said "she has the coolest hair". I guess there is something about Mullet-heads that stick together and boy do they love to rock! If you want a great laugh, buy this book. To me, its comic gold. Hilarious, well-written and just fun. This book can make you laugh and its a great gift for friends. I will buy this for my Mullet obsessed friends who will get a big kick out of it.

Someone in a review asked what does Twinkies have to do with Mullets. I say Twinkies have everything to do with Mullets. This is the nectar of Mulletdom. Anyone with true mulletude loves a twinkie more than life. Its up there with air guitar, BMX bikes and talking in a ultra-loud voice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mulletudinous!, January 4, 2000
This review is from: The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (Hardcover)
"Short on the sides, let's keep it long in back." Those words must be spoken in dozens of languages by millions of men around the globe every day.

Being a rastlin' fan, I don't read much 'cept what's on my cereal box but this one should be mandatory reading for all those interested in the long and storied history of the Koiffe [sic] of Kings, the monumentally magnificent Mullet. Long recognized as the hallmark of mane-line follicular masculinity, the Mullet is only now getting its just due.

Consider the range and breadth of men who have sported Mullets over time. Louis XIV, Ben Franklin, any WWF rastler wurf [sic] his salt, those dead guys in Lynyrd Skynyrd -- all mulleted to the hilt. Read this important book and come to grips with the enduring hairstyle that truly has guided the hand of history.

This is the best/funniest book I have ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone who is infatuated with MULLETS like myself. What is it with that 'do? People do know they are getting a haircut that will make the world laugh, right? Great book, it shows you more about mullets then you thought possible. LOVE IT. Buy one for your friend.
